Senior Legal Specialist (m/f/d)

 

About the position: 

The position is responsible for providing legal support to more than one of the entities being supported by JTI GBS LRA, including contract management, contract review and other business-relevant service.

 

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Draft, review, and certify compliance of contracts initiated or requested by contract owners across various departments within JTI entities
  • Support a wide range of contract types, including standard and non-standard agreements such as: sales and procurement of goods/services, manufacturing agreements, NDAs, intercompany agreements, HR-related contracts, distribution agreements, and finance agreements
  • Provide ongoing contractual support to internal stakeholders on post-signing matters, including renewals, amendments, legal notices, and contract terminations
  • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations, as well as internal governance standards and operating procedures
  • Provide and/or coordinate legal counselling and corporate governance activities, including legal opinions, analyses, and the arrangement of powers of attorney in line with internal policies, as well as maintaining relevant records
  • Coordinate the contract lifecycle workflow in accordance with JTI governance standards and established operating procedures
  • Maintain and develop the knowledge management database, including monitoring legal and regulatory changes affecting local entities and coordinating document and evidence searches for legal purposes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and simplification of legal services and processes
  • Prepare legal drafts, opinions, statements, reports, and other documentation on both a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Deliver trainings and coaching sessions for team members, newcomers, and larger audiences to support knowledge sharing

 

Requirements: 

  • Master of Law
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with contracts
  • Experience as an in-house lawyer providing general legal support to a business entity
  • Proven experience in drafting and working with a variety of template-based contracts, particularly in the areas of commercial, treasury, and financing agreements
  • Fluent English
  • Manage contracts end-to-end, including creation and modification of templates in CLM systems, contract alignment, coordination of e-signature and wet signature processes, and proper archiving (Contract Management)
  • Review and approve simple contracts in line with JTI standards and applicable laws (Contract Review)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of general legal principles, particularly in Civil, Commercial, Competition, and EU law, with the ability to conduct legal research using various sources (e.g. legal databases, archives, commercial registers) (Counselling)
  • Prepare legal documents such as payment notifications, letters of intent (LoI), and termination notices (Counselling)
  • Prepare corporate documents, including Board Resolutions and Minutes of Meetings (MoM) (Corporate Governance)
