Data Governance Manager
The Data Governance Manager – LRA, CA&C, & P&C is responsible for defining, implementing and governing enterprise-wide data governance capabilities for Legal, Regulatory Affairs (LRA), Corporate Affairs & Communication (CA&C), People & Culture (P&C) domains.
The role ensures that critical Legal, Corporate Affairs, & People & Culture data assets are consistently defined, governed, protected and fit-for-purpose to support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, decision-making and operational excellence.
Acting as a global point of accountability for data governance, data quality and stewardship, the role partners closely with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Affairs & Communication, People & Culture functions to embed data governance standards, processes and behaviors across the organization, enabling the company’s transition towards a data-driven and compliant enterprise.
Position:
Data Governance Strategy and Framework:
- Establish and govern an enterprise data governance roadmap with strategic priorities to enable a data-driven organization
- Roll out and continuously improve an enterprise-wide data governance framework, including policies, standards, principles, metrics, processes, and tool
Governance 'Standards, Policies and Procedures:
- Develop and maintain data governance standards, policies, and procedures for Legal, Corporate Affairs, & People & Culture data domains
- Support implementation of data quality standards, governance playbooks, and adoption requirements across business units
Market Knowledge:
- Stay informed of data governance best practices, regulatory trends and industry standards related to Legal, Corporate Affairs, & People & Culture data
- Monitor evolving data protection regulations and assess their impact on data governance practices
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with senior leadership across LRA, CA&C, P&C, GBS, IT, and Data & Analytics to implement data governance capabilities.
- Engage and manage a network of business and IT stakeholders, influencing without formal authority
Training and Support:
- Enable business and GBS teams to effectively perform data owner and data steward roles
- Develop and deliver data governance training, guidance and support materials
Operating Model & GBS Integration:
- Embed data governance processes and responsibilities within the GBS operating model (where applicable)
Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent (preferably in Computer Sciences, Information & Technology or similar)
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Strong familiarity with Data Governance and Master Data Management concepts, processes and best practices
- 3/5 + year experience of embedding Data Governance processes and standards into existing and future strategic projects
- Strong understanding of Legal, Corporate Affairs, & People & Culture data domains,
- Experience working within or with GBS or Shared Services operating models, including federated data governance and stewardship structures
- 5+ years in a major services organization, with change or transformation leadership experience and good understanding of various project management techniques
- Experience with rolling out data governance frameworks and roadmaps, aligning and documenting data definitions, setting up a proper data governance organization, and data quality controls
- Experience with enterprise data platforms and governance enablement tools (e.g. SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, Azure Purview, data catalogs, data quality tools) is key.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools; experience with reporting and visualization tools
