Data Governance Manager
The Data Governance Manager – Finance, Sustainability & Global Business Services (GBS) is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing enterprise-wide data governance capabilities for Finance, Sustainability, & GBS data domains.
The role ensures that critical financial and sustainability data assets are consistently defined, governed, protected, and fit-for-purpose to support regulatory compliance, financial and non-financial reporting, audit readiness, decision-making, and operational excellence.
Acting as a global point of accountability for data governance, data quality, and stewardship, the role partners closely with Finance, Sustainability, GBS, IT and Data & Analytics functions to embed data governance standards, processes, and behaviors across the organization, enabling the company’s transition towards a data-driven and compliant enterprise.
Position:
Data Governance Strategy and Framework

Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap, including strategic priorities for the development of a data-driven organization

Roll out and continuously improve an enterprise-wide data governance framework, including policies, standards, principles, metrics, processes, and supporting tools

Lead Data Governance committees across Business, Functions, and IT, resolving escalated issues and driving alignment
Governance Standards, Policies, and Procedures

Develop and maintain Data Governance standards, policies, and procedures across Finance, Sustainability, and GBS data domains

Drive the implementation and adoption of data quality standards and governance playbooks across business units and GBS

Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, and accountability through a federated operating model
Market Knowledge

Stay informed of data governance best practices, regulatory trends, and industry standards related to Finance and Sustainability data
Communication and Collaboration

Collaborate with senior leadership across Finance, Sustainability, GBS, IT, and Data & Analytics to identify business needs and implement data governance capabilities

Engage and manage a network of business and IT stakeholders, influencing without formal authority
Training and Support

Enable business and GBS teams to perform data owner and data steward roles effectively

Develop and deliver data governance training, guidance, and support materials
Operating Model & GBS Integration

Embed data governance processes and responsibilities within the GBS operating model (where applicable)

Ensure clear interfaces between global, regional, and local data governance responsibilities
Requirements:
-
University degree or equivalent (preferably in Computer Sciences, Information & Technology or similar)

Fluent in English, both spoken and written
-
3-5+ years of experience embedding Data Governance processes and standards into strategic initiatives

Strong knowledge of Finance and Sustainability data domains, including regulatory and compliance requirements

Proven experience rolling out Data Governance frameworks, defining data standards, and establishing governance and data quality controls

Solid background in Data Management areas such as data quality, metadata management, and data migration

Experience working in GBS or Shared Services environments with governance models

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively

Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-changing environments with strong analytical and business understanding

Knowledge of DMBOK; CDPM certification is a plus

Experience with enterprise data platforms and governance enablement tools (e.g., SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, Azure Purview, data catalogs, data quality tools) is key

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools; experience with reporting and visualization tools
