Senior Platform DevSecOps Engineer

Position Purpose

JTI is building a Consumer Data Integration (CDI) team to improve how Consumer data moves across products and platforms. The team will build on an ongoing diagnostic, coordinate priority stabilization outcomes, strengthen ownership and governance, and shape the foundations of a longer-term integration capability. This is an early-stage team with a clear purpose, but not a finished blueprint. The people joining will help define practical ways of working, make thoughtful technology choices and build a capability that is useful, reliable and sustainable. The work combines modern data and integration technologies with close collaboration across business, product, engineering, governance, and operations teams.

As Senior Platform DevSecOps Engineer, you will help build the platform-engineering and DevSecOps foundations for the future Consumer Data Integration Platform. You will define and improve CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, environment automation, release automation, secure delivery pipelines, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Copilot and Azure DevOps practices, while strengthening reliability, observability and developer productivity.

This is a senior single-contributor role for someone who can influence engineering standards across teams, challenge avoidable security or operational risk, and turn modern engineering practices into practical delivery value.

What will you do

• Define, implement and continuously improve the CDI CI/CD framework and release automation so delivery teams can move changes safely, repeatedly and with appropriate quality and security gates.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code assets, environment automation and automation standards that support reliable, scalable and consistent CDI delivery environments.
• Own DevSecOps practices and DevOps tooling for CDI repositories and projects, including GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Copilot and Azure DevOps.
• Embed secure software delivery automation, platform tooling and quality gates into the engineering workflow.
• Define platform-engineering patterns and best practices that improve developer experience and engineering productivity across CDI.
• Contribute to monitoring, observability and cloud engineering practices that improve delivery reliability and operational readiness.
• Identify automation opportunities, tooling constraints and productivity improvements; recommend standards and escalate constraints that impact delivery, reliability or security.
• Work closely with Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Architecture, platform owners and external engineering leadership to create standards that are practical, adopted and safe.

Who are we looking for — requirements

• University degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering or site reliability engineering in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience implementing CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, environment automation, release automation, secure delivery pipelines and developer tooling across multiple teams or products.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, cloud engineering practices, automation standards and modern DevSecOps ways of working.
• Practical understanding of secure software delivery, quality gates, operational readiness, reliability and observability foundations.
• Ability to influence standards across teams without direct authority and challenge approaches that increase operational, delivery or security risk.
• Strong collaboration skills across engineering, delivery, operations, architecture, platform teams and external partners.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering and developer productivity tools, including GitHub Copilot, is an advantage.
• Relevant DevOps, cloud, security, GitHub, Azure or platform-engineering certification is an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
