Mechanic Specialist

 

What the position is about – Purpose:

 

A person in that position defines, checks, improves, and updates technical and operational standards for Make Pack and Primary equipment. 
Performs mechanical and product quality defects investigation and problem-solving to identify root causes that improve machine performance and continuous improvements for repairing/modification, leading to key performance indicators improvement.

A crucial part of the tasks consists of training team members on standard mechanical settings, troubleshooting & repairing methods.

 

 

What will you do - Responsibilities: 

 

  • Maintenance and repairing process:  Responsibility for equipment availability through effective preventive maintenance execution and assembles maintenance, availability for replacement. Performing regular inspection of equipment condition. Supporting in development of maintenance Task lists. Analyzing machinery performance and downtime reasons and duration. Defining and implementing measures to improve the performance of maintenance, task list, as well as technical planned downtime optimization. Leading line mechanics to repair machines in the most effective manner identifying of problem root cause and setting standards to set up machines as soon as possible. 
  • Spare parts management: Timely order placing for Spare parts. Improving maintenance costs through Breakdown elimination, consumables lifetime extension, and sourcing of spare parts and services. Analyzing the efficiency of spare parts management.
  • 5S3R and Kaizen: Implementing and supervising the 5S3R concept in the areas of responsibility. Preparing, guiding, and implementing a visual workplace management system in the area of responsibility. Proposes new continuous improvement activities based on best practices from tobacco or other industries.                                     
  • Training and mentoring: Training mechanics on standard mechanical settings, troubleshooting & repairing methods. Developing OPLs, visual information, and tools to support continuous improvement of processes. Building and growing autonomous capabilities in line teams. 
  • Awareness of EHS risks throughout the site: Following all safety regulations and work environment-related routines, policies, procedures and regulations and actively promoting a better working environment. Continually keeping the work area clean and tidy. Taking full responsibility 5S3R in workshops and surrounding support areas as well as production areas.
  • Compliance & Policies: Ensuring compliance with JTI Corporate Standards, Management systems, Global and Local Policies and Procedures, Improvements Programs, JT Contamination Prevention Program, Code of Conduct, and 5S3R. Cooperating with the employer on health and safety matters to prevent injuries and health issues.

 

Who are we looking for – requirements:

 

  • Secondary High School Education. Technical school or equivalent is preferable.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in machine installation, repair, and problem-solving. Basic knowledge of electrics would be an asset.
  • Intermediate English and Swedish fluently written and spoken.                                            
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
