In the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Department (SRA) based in Trier is a position to fill in 50 % part-time on a temporary basis for 5 years. 


Position Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for the review of scientific literature and regulatory trends relative to conventional tobacco products and reduced-risk products as well as for the design, organization and reporting of projects addressing scientific, regulatory and compliance issues.


Your Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on defined areas of the scientific literature regarding the health effects associated with tobacco use
  • Write first class scientific communications for internal documents, peer-review journals and conferences
  • Build and maintain scientific expertise through conference attendance, participation in consultant and industry meetings and current awareness reviews of the larger scientific landscape
  • Liaise and align with JTI Science & Health team members and with global SRA at JT and JTI to ensure project alignment and synergy. Participate in cross-functional teams as necessary
  • Ensure that project results are reflected in SRA positions, fully communicated within JT Group and (where possible) the wider scientific community
  • Support the Global Product Related Advocacy Program within the Science and Health team


Your Profile

  • University degree in Life or Behavioral Sciences (Public Health, Pharmacy, Epidemiology, Psychology)
  • 3 years of experience in industry, e.g., pharma, medical communications agency, consultancy, clinical research organizations, scientific journalism.
  • Well-developed and proven medical writing skills, combined with an ability to interpret and present complex scientific data from different disciplines in a clear, engaging and concise format
  • Constantly strives to improve the quality of products / services
  • Challenges status quo, looking for better ways to improve the business, manages changes in an efficient way
  • Drives development based on honest feedback on performance and potential
  • Takes action to improve team’s performance
  • Very good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Endnote, PowerPoint or Prezi
