Product Development & Operations – Consumables Manager (m/f/d)
Your job mission:
In our R&D RRP (Reduced-Risk Products) Product Development department is an open position as Product Development Manager (m/f/d) based in Trier to fill.
The incumbent contributes to developing new, modifying, and maintaining Heated Tobacco Products – in particular Heated Tobacco Sticks. The incumbent is responsible for assigned product development/ maintenance and project management.

Your tasks:
As the Product Development & Operations - Consumables Manager in the area of product development you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Leading assigned projects to develop and execute test designs while using tobaccos, materials and processes most economically
- Initiating the preparation of consumer tests and evaluating the results on product strengths and weaknesses
- Preparation of product specifications, follow-up on product changes to the industrial manufacturing stage and keeping product ownership on assigned projects
- Initiating and supervising the testing for the technical directions on assigned development projects
- Ensuring the communication on product development and product maintenance to Global Supply Chain and other stakeholders for the assigned projects
- Managing the implementation of product/specification changes in close cooperation with technical departments and arranging the input into SAP
Your profile:
- Relevant educational background: University degree (Bachelor or PHD), preferably in Chemistry, Food Technology or Agronomy or equivalent education
- Practical experience: Several years of business practise in product development preferably in the tobacco or FMCG industry
- Valuable knowledge: Understanding of tobaccos and markets, casing & flavor, cigarette components and designs is a plus
- Special strengths: Interest in sensory evaluation of tobacco products. Solid knowledge of the most common PC software applicatio
- Suitable personality: Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills. Good communication and presentation skills, as well as team oriented. Open minded, ready to learn new things and flexible attitude
- Language skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional foreign language knowledge is advantageous
