In the Quality Assurance department based in Trier is one permanent position as Laboratory Specialist RRP Chemical Testing (m/f/d) to fill.



The specialist is responsible for the method development and implementation of chemical test methods for reduced risk products (RRP), e.g. e-cigarettes. The tasks are to be accomplished according to the JTI Standards, the legal requirements (EHS, operating procedures, tax & Custom regulations), working instructions and specifications.  


Your Responsibilities

  • Development of RRP test methods for the determination of chemical components in vapor and e-liquids according to international standards (ISO, Coresta) and JTI requirements
  • Validation and verification of chemical testing methods including the creation of validation plans, testing, final data evaluation and reporting
  • Qualification of new test equipment (e.g. GC, HPLC, GC/MS) including test design, analysis, statistical evaluation (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Regular product testing as part of the quality monitoring program
  • Integration of new RRP test methods in existing Quality Management System
  • Documentation of test results and procedures according to ISO 17025/ ISO 9001 and FDA requirements for tobacco products
  • Training of lab technicians in new methods and test equipment
  • Planning and execution of internal audits (ISO 9001/ISO 17025)


Your Profile

  • University degree in a scientific or a technical field, e.g. chemical engineer or comparable education
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in analytical test methods (GC, GC/MS, LC/MS)
  • Practical experience in Quality and ISO management systems (e.g. ISO 17025, 9001) and Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP)
  • Profound technical understanding as well as analytical skills
  • Profound knowledge in analytical techniques (GC, GC/MS, LC/MS)
  • Creativity, ability to work independently, pleasure in experimental work
  • Experience in the execution of statistical analyses
  • Self-initiative, team spirit as well as strong communication skills
  • Proficient in English both written and spoken
  • Profound knowledge in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
