In order to strengthen our Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Department (SRA) department based in Trier, we are looking for a Chemical Regulation Manager (m/f/d) on a temporary basis for one year during parental leave with potential extension.



Your Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the development of new IT tools and processes for data management and monitoring in the area of chemical regulation
  • Ensure maintenance of ChemGes Safety Data Sheet (SDS) & Labelling Software in accordance with the latest regulatory developments and JTI best practices to meet current and future JT group business requirements
  • Author and maintain JT group SDSs and Hazard labels in accordance with EU CLP. Prepare required translations to EU MS languages and regulatory translations to other GHS standards
  • Provide regulatory guidance regarding applicable product classification and labelling requirements
  • Monitor evolving chemical regulations, assess their business impact and support subsequently the development of appropriate processes to ensure compliance
  • Support ongoing compliance with existing chemical regulations such as REACH, K-REACH, KKDIK, EAEU technical Regulations, CLP/GHS and equivalent requirements
  • Contribute to other projects within the wider SRA department as required



Your Profile:


  • Scientific or technical bachelor or academic degree in a scientific discipline
  • Experience with the implementation of chemical, technical regulations and standards is advantageous 
  • Additional working experience in Safety Data Sheet Management is advantageous
  • Experience in tobacco regulations and/or in regulatory aspects of other industry sectors
  • First knowledge of Chemical Management and Hazard Communication regulations
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking and confidence in dealing with internal & external partners
  • Strong skills in MS Office especially Excel, PowerBI, PowerQuery, SQL, SAP
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
