Position Purpose 

Tax Manager to lead the complete taxation management and compliance of U.S group of entities including parent JTI US Holding and its subsidiaries JTIUSA, JTIDF, JTINA, PTID, USAT, and Logic.  Timely and accurate quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and preparation of reports to headquarters. Management, control and leadership role for tax compliance activities for all JTI US entities. The incumbent should manage the relation with external tax advisors for the compliance and other consulting activities. Preparation of tax returns and transfer pricing studies with consultation with external tax firm.  Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual miscellaneous tax returns and claims.  Handling tax audits and requirements with governmental authorities.  Independently monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and assessment of the impact to JTI. The incumbent should independently work as internal tax consultant for different tax questions coming from the functions of the US organization as well as with the region, HQ and colleagues from Global Tax.

Main responsibilities:

  • Tax Management -  Taxation management of U.S group of entities including parent JTI US Holding and it's subsidiaries JTIUSA, JTIDF, JTINA, PTID, USAT, and Logic.
  • Coordinating with Regional Tax Director and Tax Department in Headquarters.  Calculate and ensure Limited Risk Distributor (LRD) requirements are met.
  • Tax provisioning and reporting -  Timely and accurate quarterly and annual provision calculation, ensure recording of provisions, and coordination with accountants from each U.S. entity.  
  • Ensure accurate quarterly/annual reporting packages to head quarters.  
  • Preparation of tax provisions for budgeting periods. 
  • Tax returns and Transfer Pricing studies:  Preparation of working papers and tax returns  for Federal, State, County tax returns and transfer pricing studies with coordination with external tax firm.  
  • Review of final returns and documents and ensure timely payment of tax. 
  • Tax compliance:  Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual Sales and Use tax, property tax, excise tax, customs duties, form 1099's, floor tax, FATCA requirements, and other miscellaneous tax returns and claims for all entities.  
  • Ensure timely payment of tax.  Handling tax audits and other tax requirements with governmental authorities. 
  • Service agreements:  Ensure Intercompany service agreements are current, with creation, review and adjustment as needed. Calculation of service fees between entities and ensure recording in SAP.  
  • Tax Developments and Monitoring:  Proactively following up on US tax developments and trends that may impact the US business,
  • Assist in broader US business development activities, provide assistance and support to other departments in relation to US tax as needed, etc. 
  • Seek opportunities to improve current procedures.  Support requests of additional duties and special projects.                                                



Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 year BA/BS Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business. Tax specialization is a must. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 Years of tax experience is a must (multi-national FMCG organization, tax advisory companies).
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and oral skills.
  • Skilled in financial applications (SAP and MS Excel) is preferable.
