Position Purpose 

JTI USA is presently seeking a Strategic Insights Analyst to join our team. This is a hybrid role to support the Strategy & Insights function via various research and data initiatives throughout the business. This role will have a Business focus. It will be a primary support function to help the Marketing and Sales teams and empower them with actionable insights and data to drive decisions for their initiatives. The incumbent will provide data mining, research, and analysis for the SI team through data sources- MSAi, Nielsen AOD, IRI, and other such data sources. Key objectives will be focused on timeliness, accuracy, analysis, and support for the Strategy and Insights Team.

 

Position Location Teaneck, NJ 

Hybrid Flexible Work Schedule 50 percent onsite

 

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Support Strategy & Insight's team in preparation of insightful & in-depth research, analysis, and reporting to support deliverables across the organization. Evaluate for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
  • Play a pivotal role in data mining, research, and analysis -from conceptual thinking to hands-on work. Proactively analyze data to answer critical questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide support on special ad-hoc projects or regular tasks across the business as requested by the manager and Stakeholders. Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
  • Manage vendor partnerships and data quality management for the organization. Support in research project execution and delivery.
  • Work directly with management and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree is required. 
  • 2 - 5 years of data mining, research & analysis experience primarily within Consumer Packaged Goods or FMCG marketing and sales functions. Experience with Nielsen, IRI, Basket and MSAi data is a plus.
  • Should have solid analytics background with solid proficiency in analysis and the ability to work with extensive data set manipulation and consolidate multiple data sources into coherent research results.
  • Basic working statistical knowledge is a must—expert proficiency within Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
