Job Title: Commercial Insights Manager

What this position is about:

The candidate works closely with the leadership at JTI and with Marketing, Finance, and Sales Team members to provide high-quality market analysis besides leading research projects (Quantitative and Qualitative) to formulate actionable and winning portfolio, brand, trade, and distribution strategies for the US market. This is a hybrid role requiring research and data skills and will have a Business focus to help the Marketing and Sales teams. The incumbent will have to work both independently and collaboratively with the team to empower Stakeholders with actionable insights and data to drive decisions for their initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for providing the correct analyses, reports and information to monitor and understand market performance drivers. The incumbent will manage the Agencies (e.g. MSAi, Nielsen , IRI among others) to provide accurate and business-related information on market, brands, pricing, channel, consumer  trends and impact of competitive activities.

 

 

What will you do?

  • Support all data analysis requirements to understand the market dynamics for all categories (RMC, Cigars, RRP) to track performance, trends and deliver actionable insights to support the management team makes.
  • Support all data analysis and reporting requirements for Marketing and Sales Team members to build, monitor and/or track all pricing, distribution, channel programs, sales coverage, promotions, portfolio targeting and brand prioritization needs. 
  • Support the Marketing Director and the larger Marketing team by using data insights, reports, projects and partnerships with HQ, sales.
  • Support the management and update on all monthly, weekly, ad-hoc reports and ensure the SI department keeps track and reflects the changing and evolving needs of the market, consumer and trade insights. 
  • Support all regional and HQ reporting requirements with timely and accurate data analysis for Business Reviews - ASP, SPC, Regional and Local Reviews
  • People management
  • Developing employee skills and performance through training and coaching. Hiring, training, and developing new employees to meet organizational needs. Providing feedback on an employee’s performance, helping to develop an employee’s skills where needed, and addressing performance problems.

 

 

Who are we looking for?

  • University degree (required), preferable in Engineering, Science, Statistics, Marketing Fields
  • 10-15 years Strategic Insights, Research or Brand Marketing experience in FMCG 
  • Solid analytics background with strong proficiency in analysis with vision, large data set manipulation and consolidating multiple sources of data into coherent research results.
  • Excellent project-management & organization skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent computer skills & expert proficiency within Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Nielsen, IRI and MSAi data a plus
