Position Purpose

Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of accounting systems for JTI USA entity for it's RMC, PTID, Moet lines of businesses and assistance with other JTI entities. Daily coordination with our overseas service center to monitor cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and respond to queries.  In addition, timely and accurate monitoring of month-end closing, quarterly reporting, and monthly key account reconciliation.  Liaise with Sales department by processing sales incentive payments in internal sales system (TME) along with verification and entering Tax ID and bank accounts for retailers. Deposit and issue manual checks upon approvals and Citibank administration as well.             


This position is located in Teaneck, NJ       


Responsibilities and Requirements                

  • Main accountant for JTI's entities (ie. RMC, PTID, Moet). Ensure accounting bookings (such as AP & AR clearings/cash/open items etc) are posted accurately and timely by liaising with our overseas service center daily and responding to their queries ensure month-end closing is processed.  
  • Deposit checks with Citibank, issue manual checks upon approval, and ensure recording of the transactions.  
  • Administration of key cards, access, statements, and manual check logging in the portal.                                                
  • Respond to queries about monthly Key Account Reconciliations and quarterly reporting by deadlines.  
  • Perform controls walkthroughs and provide documents for internal audits, responding to requests from internal auditors, and implementation of recommended audit findings if necessary.         
  • Processing sales incentive payments in internal sales system (TME).  
  • Approve payments, stop and reissue payments, verification and entering Tax ID and bank accounts into the system.  
  • Liaise with Sales department, responding to their queries, and monitor the Accounting mailbox.      
  • Back-up for other accountants as needed.                            
  • Perform and support requests of additional duties or special projects from Manager as necessary.                                              


Minimum Qualifications                                       

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business.
  • 0-2 Years of accounting experience, preferably in multi-national consumer goods organization.
  • Well organized accountant. Excellent communication skills is a must.      
  • Excel skills is a must,  SAP experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Fluency in English is essential to liaise with the Sales department and service centers.  
  • Journal Entry month-end reconciliations and analysis of GL account
