New Category Brand Manager

 

The New Category Brand Manager is responsible for developing the portfolio and brand strategy of new category launches to achieve its business objectives. Key responsibilities include:
    
   - Understanding competitive landscape and anticipating competitors' moves in the new tobacco categories under all regulatory assumptions
   - Developing portfolio & pricing strategy of new category launches
   - Building localized brand strategy and guideline

 

The incumbent possesses a strong entrepreneurial mindset and needs to be extremely resilient and agile as the tobacco industry is ever-evolving and needs to quickly recover from setbacks. 

 

What will you do?

 

  • You will analyze the competitive landscape and anticipate competitor move in Taiwan by closely monitoring reference markets, analyzing all aspects of global and local tobacco business and acquiring insights into adult smokers' behaviors and switching motives. Closely work with CA and Legal to build a new category business plan based on all regulatory assumptions
  • You will lead new category product strategy & development for Taiwan market through close coordination with HQ, Region, and local cross-functions to introduce the winning product and pricing mix and manage all cost impacts and inventory write-offs
  • You will lead development of localization of JTI's brand communication guideline & tools by managing global/local market agency to ensure executing marketing excellence and impactful delivery of the brand message to adult smokers
  • You will lead and support in preparing of annual budget planning and periodical tracking of new category business and provide senior management with accurate information and support needed to make the decisions on the budget
  • You will closely monitor the performance of JTI and competitors, identify reasons for its success or failures, and build a plan to move forward or pivot
  • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • A Bachelor / University Degree in Statistics, InfoTech, Economics/Business Management or equivalent
  • With at least 7 years of experience in Marketing or Branding management in a multinational company
  • Knowledgeable  in marketing & strategic planning (Brand portfolio management, pricing, market analysis, consumer insights and product innovation)
  • Has good understanding of operational constraints and strong execution reflex, appreciation of legislation / taxation, external relations, marketing standards in the tobacco industry
  • Proven team player, can effectively communicate with various organizational functions
  • Experienced in driving projects to completion as a project manager
  • Fluent in English and Chinese communication skills
  • Strong command of MS PowerPoint and Excel
  • Willing to work at Taipei, Taiwan
