Position Purpose

 

The incumbent is responsible for the factory accounts payable operations of Japan Tobacco International Manufacturing Co., Ltd (JTIM).  He/She is responsible for the management of the JTIM Company’s accounts payable and VAT/WHT related tasks.  The incumbent is also responsible for the coordination with BSC KL for any transaction related matters AP and VAT/WHT that BSC could not resolve. The incumbent would be the coordinator between Factory (JTIM) and Market (JTI) on financial reporting and administrative matters.  The incumbent, as well as the Finance Administrator of Entity Accounting for JTIM, reports to the Entity Compliance & Control Manager.

 

Responsibilities

 

  1.  Accounts Payable
  • Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices and payment runs for 3rd Party, Intercompany and tax/government regulators.
  • Monitor accounts payable related activities performed by BSC KL, and be the first point of contact  for any transaction related matters AP and VAT/WHT that BSC could not resolve.
  • Take lead to liaise and coordinate all AP and VAT/WHT related matters between key business stakeholders in factory and Market Finance.

 

       2. Tax Filing

  • Prepare withholding tax, VAT as well as Excise and Health tax filing documents and submit/make payments on time. Prepare relevant withholding tax reconciliation for external auditor.
  • Maintain knowledge on Taiwanese tax regulation and requirement for JTI business operation.

 

       3. Entity Reporting

  • Review quarterly Financial Report Packages pages prepared by BSC KL before submission to Corporate Accounting Team.
  • Support on Country-by-Country Report and Tax Package related matters

 

        4. Treasury & Payment Forecasts

  • Assist the Entity Compliance & Control Manager on cash management and co-work with Tax & Treasury team and monitor bank accounts on a daily basis to ensure sufficient cash position.
  • Maintain good relationships with banks.

 

        5. Ad Hoc Activities

  • Assist in other ad-hoc projects as required. Support supervisor's GL function ad-hoc requests.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 2-3 years with multinational companies ideally in business and/or accounting area, or with one of the Big Four Audit Firms with an international client package.
  • Knowledge in IFRS and Taiwanese GAAP. Ideally with factory accounting experience.

 

Skills, Competencies & Languages

 

  • Fluency in English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, SAP a plus.
  • Cross-functional communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills.
