❖ What this position is about:
The Data Science Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of data-driven modeling and mobile applications that are aligned with the organization's strategic business objectives.
Working closely with cross functional teams, the Data Science Project Manager will translate business requirements into project execution programs, ensuring compliance with project management, data governance, and IT policy and standards. He/She will act as bridge between different tools/enablers across M&S and will ensure that all tools are maintained and optimized for maximum efficiency. Additionally, the Data Science Project Manager will cross-collaborate with the Digital and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of data-driven solutions.
Overall, the Data Science Project Manager will play a critical role in driving the organization towards data-driven decision making, ensuring that data is leveraged effectively to support key business initiatives. The role requires a strong balance of technical expertise and project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to achieve shared objectives
❖ What will you do:
- Lead and oversee the development, implementaion, enhancement, and maintenance of data-driven modeling applications/tools that support the organization's strategic business objectives: The DS Manager is responsible for identifying the business objectives of the organization and develop data-driven solutions that is aligned with the objectives. This involves defining project scope, setting goals, developing project plans,ensuring that the business logics and design underlying data-driven modeling applications are up-to-date and aligned with changing business requirements and ensuring that all requirements are met to achieve project success
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data-driven solutions: The Data Science Project Manager needs to collaborate with other teams including Digital and IT teams. He/She needs to ensure that all necessary resources are aligned to deliver high quality data-driven solutions that are integrated seamlessly across the organization
- Manage Project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure successful project delivery: The DS Project Manager needs to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery. He/She must understand the technical requirements of the project, as well as the financial parameters, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with appropriate resource allocation.
- The DS Project Manager must proactively identify and address project risks and issues that may negatively impact project delivery. He/She should have a contingency plan to mitigate potential risks and meet the milestones according to the project plan
- Identify opportunities to leverage data to drive business insights and improve performance, and make recommendatios on strategic initiatives: The DS Project Manager needs to continually identify potential opportunities for leveraging data to drive business insights, improve performance, and identify any gaps. He/She must offer recommendations on strategic initiatives that can drive innovation and improve business outcomes to support the decision-making process of the organization
- Provide business support and lead adhoc initiatives to drive data analytics adoption and innovation across the organization: The DS Project Manager will provide significant support by leading or supporting adhoc inititatives that drive data-driven analytics adoption and innovation across the organization. This involves working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data, developing data-driven solutions to address business challenges, and promoting data driven culture within the organization.
❖ Who are we looking for:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years of work experience in Data Science, Analytics, or related fields, along with demonstrated experience in project management. Industry experience in FMCG would be an added advantage
- Fluent in both written & verbal English (Excellent communication and collaboration skills)
- Strong Analytics and Project Management Skills: The candidate should possess strong analytical and project management skills. He/She should be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects, solve complex problems, and communicate complex analytical concepts to stakeholders
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills: The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with a diverse set of stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, and external partners
- In-depth understanding of Data Science concepts and practices: Candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of data science concepts, inclduing data preparation, machine learning algorithms, data visualization, and statistical analysis
- Programming Skills: Candidate must have strong programming skills in languages like Python, R, SQL and other programming languages
- Experience working with data analytics tools: Candidate should have experience working with data analytics such as Tableau, PowerBI, and other analytics and visualization tools
