Record to Report Manager


R2R Manager will supervise the team to ensure that transactions are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with JTI policies and procedures. To develop and lead staff within the team so as to ensure stable, predictable and reliable core service delivery that meets Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements with the customers.


What will you do?


  • Core Service Delivery
    • Management of the team of Specialists and Experts in charge of a wide range of Record to Report support activities: General Ledger (including month end closing), Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Financial Supply Chain Management (TMO/TBO), VAT or GST compliance
    • Providing the above services for the markets in scope for GBS Manila - Americas (Canada and USA) and Asia Pacific (Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam)
    • Managing project deliverables for R2R improvement projects on behalf of GBS Manila (including requirements analysis, testing and change management). Liaise with Corporate Finance teams such as Corporate Accounting and R2R Competency Center to ensure that processes are standardized and are in line with IFRS and JTI Accounting requirements
    • Ownership and maintenance of detailed GBS transactional documentation for the processes in scope and ensure these are kept up to date so that GBS services are executed in line with Corporate requirements
  • Team Management
    • Achieve the established targets, service metrics and KPIs;
    •  Drive process improvement within the teams.
    • Initiate engagement activities to maintain team motivation
    • Plan employee’s development in line with their personal and professional skills and career aspirations. Monitor the development progress and make necessary corrections
    • Coach in developing employees' professional skills and competencies, support them in achieving established development goals
    • Provide constructive feedback on a regular basis, and encourage subordinates to provide feedback to the manager
  • Controls and Compliance
    • Accountable for the execution of JSOX / internal controls related to the processes in scope in accordance with the internal documentation
    •  Ensure mitigation actions are in place for each failure and "lessons learned" are analyzed and shared with other GBS teams
    • Ensure team members are trained on JSOX controls and understand the controls substance
  • You will be accountable for maintenance of detailed transactional GBS documentation for the processes in scope and establishing the process of updating it to ensure Core Services are executed in line with corporate and market local accounting requirements
  • You will ensure the regular review and update of process documentation is conducted (user manuals and process flow)
  • Constantly review all processes with a view to improve efficiency, quality of output and financial control
  • You will actively build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders from markets and corporate functions


Who are we looking for?


  • A Bachelor / University Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in managing medium-size teams with excellent understanding of the Record to Report processes
  • Advance knowledge on the use of MS Office and SAP is required
  • A commendable leader, a team player, and an excellent communicator with a strong command of English language; knowledge in other languages of the countries within GBS scope is a plus
  • A professional qualification of ACCA, CPA or similar is a plus.
  • Preferably with FMCG background and experience in shared service environment
