Drive compliance to pertinent laws / regulations pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety / Labor Health Standards.  Ensure compliance with Company policies and standards on Global EHS. Assist in the development of initiatives leading to continuous improvement in Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) performance. Implement and Ensure Compliance with GLOBAL FLEET SAFETY POLICY.




Assist the EHS TEAM in the market's implementation of Environment Sustainability, Health and Safety Programs.

  • Assist the EHS TEAM on current and future EH&S projects and to assist in the delivery of the Market's objectives.
  • Conducts risk assessments and design reviews of new projects in the sales offices, warehouses including HQ.
  • Monitors program implementation and reports to the EHS MANAGER, P&C Director and ExCom as necessary and requested.
  • Assist the EHS TEAM in conducting Market's Risk Assessment Process ensuring risks are identified and control measures implemented proactively to reduce risks of accidents and incidents.
  • Assist the EHS TEAM in the Market Incident Investigation team ensuring identification of root causes for major incidents
  • Develops and implement communication systems to ensure optimum awareness across the Site of SH&E matters
  • Assist the development of Market and Department Safety Officers and First Aiders. 
  • Keeps in contact with key EH&S stakeholders and represent the Market in external EH&S events
  • Networks with other safety officers to develop/acquire current best approaches in systems implementation.
  • Coordinate with the Health Services Group of the site in the implementation of health services activities.
  • Works with contractors’ representatives in order for the contractors to set up their own safety program. 


Ensures compliance with the national EH&S legislation, codes of practice and company policies and standards

  • Through knowledge of national legislation, codes of practice and company policy and standards, ensure that the Market EH&S Management systems delivers legal and business compliance.
  • Initiates and coordinates the development of policies and guidelines addressing Market EH&S issues, in coherence with those defined at the Market and Global EHS.
  • Assist the EHS TEAM to manage an effective audit programme to identify non-compliance and action for continuous improvement. Implement and ensure compliance to Global Fleet SAFETY Policy.
  • Conducts periodic safety audit on local fleet management procedures. Communicate and/or initiate improvements as necessary.


Conducts/coordinates training programs on EH&S management systems and technical standards.

  • Trains and develops Environment and Safety Officers and Coordinators and Leaders.
  • Facilitates and conducts training programmes to support Market EH&S initiatives.


Assist the EHS Team in all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment matters.

  • Provides data, support and advice to the Management Team to improve decision making regarding EH&S and to integrate EH&S into business decisions


Assist the EHS TEAM to Establish a business-resiliency framework to help provide an efficient response to business interruption due to various crisis, disasters and emergencies be it natural hazards or man-induced threats that can affect the employees, the business, and stakeholders.




  • Bachelor of Science degree holder.
  • Experience in managing Occupational Health and Safety or Environment Sustainability Programs.
  • Accredited Safety Practitioner with extensive experience in producing Safety and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) reports and familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures on Safety and BCP.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable legislation and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of safety management information system.
  • Ability to communicate and influence people at all levels of the organization
  • Competence on EH&S leading and managing EH&S programs
  • Knowledge on Regulatory requirements and Technical Standards
  • Train and develop people
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office.
  • Outstanding organization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel and off-hour on-call support is required.
  • Background in IT and business continuity/risk management is an advantage
