Department: Strategic Insights & Business Intelligence

  • The incumbent of the position acts as a business owner of all data available in JTIP, creating and maintaining a solid foundation for Business Insights to identify strategic opportunities and develop winning strategies for JTIP.

  • The scope of the position should cover all M&S Operations, by leading a team capable of utilizing analytical, statistical, programming, and AI skills to maintain a standardized M&S Data lake, collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets and use this information to develop data-driven solutions to various business challenges.                                  

  • The position is to lead a team of a data project specialist and an M&S consumer/customer data specialist and work closely with the Strategic Insight team, Business intelligence team, Sales team, and IT on a daily basis.

  • The position ensures that insight generated from data and solutions are actionable and addresses current and future business challenges. The position actively leads a data-driven mindset throughout JTIP.



  • Data & AI strategy:

    • Develop and lead the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Strategy by assessing critical business and strategic levers and contributing through a data-driven process

    • Continuously identify the business opportunities from process automation and optimal data flow, and develop data management strategies accordingly

    • Ensure unified data framework from multiple M&S platforms & initiatives, by working as SPOC for any Consumer & Customer-driven data related information

  • Data Modelling, design, and ownership:

    • Develop and implement procedures for effective data management, working closely with TME, BI, Digital, and IT teams.

    • Own the data dictionary of all different platforms & solutions and incoming data from the external, and lead the data matching exercise when necessary

    • Actively lead the development and maintenance of CDP (Consumer & Customer data platform) from a business perspective, ensuring the data integrity and quality in line with business requirement

    • Regularly monitor and evaluate information and data systems that could affect analytical results.

    • Ensure the data management is in compliance with legal and company regulations.

    • Identify and Partner with JTI consultants when required, aligning with the IT and Procurement department for the approvals and support required on the Projects.

  • Data project development, enhancement & maintenance:

    • Develop, deploy, enhance and maintain the field enabling tool (Sales AI assistant - Selina) with the full ownership

    • Ensure current data-driven tools are properly updated and maintained. 

    • Continuously improve and enhance the linkage between the M&S operational tool (TME Lite), planning tools (e.g. POP & TOP), and the field enabling tool (AI Assistant) by properly assessing business requirements and translating them into a project plan

    • Assess and evaluates the impact of any change on business requirement, and the implications on current tools implementation change from the data perspective

    • Take ownership of project budget management during solution implementation as assigned

  • Data Innovation

    • Keep a constant eye on industry and market innovation trends from the data perspective, including:

      • Identify different sources where the company could gather the information that could be considered valuable to be translated to business insights. This could be but is not limited to  Macroeconomic Data,  Consumer Trends, Telco data collection, etc.  

      • Identify best practices from other companies/industries in terms of  Data in both the Digital environment as well as in B2B and B2C environments.

    • Constantly assess the currently available tools within the company and identify how the market could extract benefits out of them 

      • Nudge M&S organization to think from a different perspective by providing ideas and insights out of data innovation

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Team management & Coaching/Training

    • Recruit, motivate, and guide the development of skills and career of the team who are reporting directly and indirectly to the incumbent.

    • Act as a Trainer and Coach for any data-related topic across Digital, SI, and BI teams, promoting a data-driven perspective through the utilization of any available sources and tools.



  • MA/BA Degree in Statistics/Marketing/Economics/Mathematics/Business Admin/Engineering or equivalent experiences
  • 5+ years of proven experience acquired in JTI and/or in a previous company (preferrable in FMCG industry) in Marketing, Sales, and SIBI in a leadership/senior managerial positions. 

  • The candidate shall have a strong data experience in collection, analysis, and utilization to generate insight. 

  • Experience or willingness to work in the area of data science/data mining, data manipulation, machine learning, and statistical modeling through SQL, Power BI, and Python.

  • Fluent English, both written and verbal
  • Functional Skills
    • Statistical knowledge, Financial and Business acumen
    • Ability to turn complex data into articulated & easy-to-understand insights
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, consensus-driven, culturally diverse environment
    • Stakeholder management skills for cross-functional collaboration & vendor management
    • ArcGIS, Python, R, Power BI, QLIK, SQL, Data modeling, and Data Analysis are plus.
