Branch Finance Manager


Responsible for Branch Finance Operations in assigned geographical areas. Drives implementation of agreed policies and procedures, instills compliance within the branches and leads extended teams by providing timely feedback on identified issues, considering motivational aspect. Proactively works with AREA Managers to improve compliance of Sales Force with company rules to safeguard company's assets and improve efficiencies. Implement approved projects/process improvements end-to-end.

What will you do?


  • Policies and procedures/controls enforcement
    • Responsible to ensure that approved policies and procedures with designed controls are effectively implemented in assigned geographical areas. Follows-up with the branch team to minimize non-compliance and prevent/mitigate any audit findings. In this regard, with the below list not being all-inclusive, incumbent's responsibilities include:
      • Customer master data is clean/timely updated and all active customers have complete information. This includes ensuring that all customers which are provided with credit limit have a valid phone number for phone call validation purposes, unless exceptions have been approved as per the policy.
      • All variances of Sales Personnel are timely escalated, reported and followed-up for resolution, including obtainment of Security reports for hold-up incidents.
      • Analyzing non-compliance cases of Sales Personnel and proactively working with RSMs/ZMs to minimize non-compliance and ensuring that open incidents are closed on timely basis.
      • Ensuring that all Sales Personnel have routes settled as per agreed schedule and month-end closing timelines.
      • Proactively addressing any agreed findings reported by Internal Audit.
  • Accounts Receivables Management
    • Incumbent is responsible to:
      • Validate all credit limit requests initiated by assigned branches in terms of accuracy and commercial substance.
      • Review actual credit limit utilization on periodic basis, as prescribed by Credit Management Policy and share findings with key stakeholders involved in decision-making and approval process to minimize credit exposure going forward.
      • Drive collectability of aged AR balances and strive to achieve pre-set collection efficiency targets.
      • Review and provide on timely basis key data necessary for accurate recording of AR provision in the books.
      • Maintain approved credit limits in sub-system accurately and timely.
  • People management
    • Recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of the team reporting directly and indirectly to the incumbent. Follow-up with the team members to ensure that all policies and procedures are clearly understood and guide them on importance of why certain controls are designed and need to be adhered to. Identify successors for direct reports and ensure back-ups are in place in terms of development and system access rights.
  • Key business partner/advisor
    • Collaborate with Regional Sales Director, Area Sales Manager, Branch Warehouse Supervisor and Marketing function for branch improvements and ensure resolution of branch issues. Serve as the go-to person for all questions related to company's policies and procedures in direct sales to other functions in assigned geographical areas.
  • Drive implementation of agreed projects/process improvements and analyze branch performance
    • Identify improvement opportunities in existing processes and propose to upper management for implementation.
    • Drive periodic enhancement of business processes (i.e. automation projects, process improvements, special projects) in assigned areas, ensuring benefits and reasons for changes are understood by all involved stakeholders.
    • Analyze various KPIs portraying branch performance, such as number of reversal transactions by Sales Personnel resulting in inefficiencies and extra transactions, Wholesalers with low sales volume vs. Retail stores, etc. and identify areas for improvement.
  • Field Visits
    • Visits assigned branches as per annually agreed schedule to work with the team face-to-face and assess on the ground team's understanding and implementation of company's policies and procedures. Identify areas for improvement and remediate any shortcomings. 
  • Other
    • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request.


Who are we looking for?


  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or its equivalent. CPA certification would be an advantage.
  • At least 5 years experience in large multinational company and 2 years in managerial role is essential.
  • Experience with budget and analysis
  • Sound financial acumen, including understanding of accounting principles, credit management and financial controls. 
  • Good understanding of integrated systems (e.g. ERP). SAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office, mainly Excel (Functions / Formula), Word and PPT
  • Assigned in JTI Philippines HQ (BGC, Taguig) but must be willing to travel at least once a month to Visayas region for regular branch visits.
  • Fluent English and Tagalog are essential
