To strengthen our Technical Services team within Tobacco Technology Development Center in Trier, we are looking for a Technical Services Manager (m/f/d) in permanent employment

 

Your job mission:

 

You enjoy cross-functional and cross-locational collaboration in an international Team? Are you flexible, team oriented, communicative, willing to travel and have experience in project management? As a Technical Services Manager you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of primary processes used in prototyping, manufacturing and production. Developing and designing processes that convert raw materials into valuable products, including scale up and roll out of new process technologies for Conventional and Reduced Risk Products, hence contribute to the implementation of newly developed products.

Your tasks:

 

    • Develop scale up primary manufacturing processes based on fundamental identified criteria’s
    • Define design elements from the process requirements
    • Set key aspects the process must meet for installation at the Product Technology Center & JTG factories
    • Provide relevant parameters, specifications and quality control measures
    • Cooperate with multiple suppliers and global engineering in designing new lines
    • Qualify new and upgraded primary processing lines and individual equipment in JTG factories
    • Set up and governance of Primary Processing Specifications and Quality Parameters for PTC/PP (Product Technology Center/Pilot Plant), JTG factories and Licensees to realize designed product quality
    • Follow-up and continuous improvement of primary processes with identifying opportunities, implementing changes, and monitoring results to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and boost quality
    • Provide technical expertise during development phases of new products

 

Your profile:

 

    • Relevant educational background: University degree (Bachelor or higher), preferably in chemical Engineering or equivalent education
    • Practical experience: Several years of business practice in the tobacco industry (or FMCG industry) in an international environment
    • Valuable knowledge: Preferably sound knowledge of primary processing as well as experience in production processes, sound knowledge in excel and most common PC software applications, experience with processing simulation and analysis tools as advantageous
    • Special strengths: Excellent analytical skills and technical understanding / Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional foreign language is a plus
