To strengthen our team in the area of Product Technology Center at the Trier plant, we are looking for a PTC RRP&CP Manager (m/f/d) in temporary employment for 2 years

This role is key to shaping the future of JTI by driving innovation in Reduced-Risk and Conventional Products, helping us deliver better choices for adult consumers worldwide. By combining engineering expertise with collaboration across R&D, global functions, and external partners, you will turn ideas and new technologies into scalable solutions. As PTC RRP & CP Project Manager, you will lead equipment implementation, manage product development projects, and support the scale-up from prototype to commercialization – making a direct impact on JTI’s global product portfolio.

Your tasks:

  • Project engineering for RRP & Conventional Product (Capex) in the Secondary (Capex), especially
  • leading of machine implementation & commissioning, qualification and acceptance including project costing.
  • Manage R&D PD projects in the area of RRP & CP, focussed on development at PTC in collaboration with third party vendors and R&D Product development functions.
  • Third party vendor scouting and evaluation in terms of new technologies, process capabilities and scale up possibilities based on market demands
  • Support prototype production (special projects) in Secondary and Primary
  • Project management from PTC side to scale up the new equipment and processes up to
  • commercialization in collaboration with R&D Technical Services and Global Engineering

 

Your profile:

  • Relevant educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering – or relevant professional experience in a comparable technical field.
  • Practical experience: Proven track record in project engineering, ideally in both raw material processing and product manufacturing/packaging. Hands-on experience in managing machine implementation, commissioning, and acceptance within industrial production.
  • Valuable knowledge: Solid understanding of industrial production processes, technical equipment, and automation/control systems. Strong analytical skills and technical problem-solving abilities. Confident use of common PC applications (e.g., MS Office); willingness to work with specialized engineering tools.
  • Special strengths: In-depth knowledge of process engineering and industrial automation. Experience in high-volume production industries (FMCG or similar) is a strong advantage. Fluency in German and English, with additional languages considered an asset.
  • Suitable personality: Well-developed project management, organizational, and communication skills. Strong team orientation combined with leadership capabilities. Flexible mindset with willingness to travel internationally as required.
