To strengthen our team in the area of global planning at the Trier plant, we are looking for a Global Planning Specialist (m/f/d) in permanent employment.

Your job mission:

Are you passionate about bringing structure to complex planning environments and ensuring that everything runs like clockwork? In this role, you will lead the global tobacco ASP (Annual Strategic Planning) and ensure all inputs - from finished goods volumes to semi‑finished goods levels - are accurately reflected in our systems. Your long‑term MRP (Material Requirements Planning) will support strategic decisions across procurement, finance and operations, giving you the chance to make a real impact through end‑to‑end planning and cross‑functional collaboration.

Who are we?

JTI is a leading international tobacco company with locations in more than 130 countries and world-famous brands such as Winston, Camel and American Spirit. With our brands Nordic Spirit, Logic and Ploom, we also focus on growth through innovations in the field of reduced risk products. In Germany, we are the largest employer in our industry with over 2,000 employees.

As a multiple award-winning top employer, we offer an open and inclusive working environment with exciting tasks in a challenging environment. Flexible working concepts, diverse development opportunities and international career paths are part of our everyday life. Your tasks:

ASP & MRP Planning

  • Lead the MRP calendar creation and make sure all ASP/MRP steps are completed on time and with high quality.
  • Consolidate key ASP inputs (finished goods volumes, SFG (semi-finished goods) levels, sourcing rules, plant scope) and ensure they are correctly reflected in planning systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Finance and GSC (Global Supply Chain) to validate data, align assumptions and support sign‑off.
  • Run the long‑term MRP process — from tobacco blend assignment to raw tobacco gross demand — ensuring that lead times and inventory targets are respected.

Sourcing, Analysis & Reporting

  • Implement sourcing decisions defined by other functions and ensure they are accurately reflected in the planning process.
  • Analyze MRP results (demand, inventory, what‑if scenarios) and translate them into clear, actionable insights for Leaf sourcing, Finance and other teams.

System Ownership & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as a power user of planning tools — identify improvements and contribute to the evolution of planning systems and processes.
  • Support testing activities and take part in long‑term initiatives such as blend updates or strategic projects.
  • Assist global users by explaining planning processes and helping teams navigate planning tools effectively.

Your profile:

  • Relevant educational background - Commercial education in business administration or equivalent university degree.
  • Practical experience - 3+ years of experience in Supply Network Planning (SNP) or production planning, solid knowledge of production and inventory management, basic understanding of customer relationship management.
  • Valuable knowledge - Strong PC skills: profound knowledge and experience with SAP ERP (S/4) and SAP SCM (IBP), MS Office (advanced Excel skills)
  • Special Strenghts - Excellent planning, coordination and analytical skills, proactive and solution‑oriented mindset, strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Suitable personality - Structured, reliable and comfortable working in a global environment, able to handle multiple stakeholders and solve problems independently.
  • Language Skills - Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Your benefits:

  • Your team - You will work in an open and international working environment with approx. 60 nations at the Trier site
  • Your remuneration - Above-average pay with a current starting salary of 5745,60€ gross monthly salary with a guaranteed annual salary increase in the first 5 years as well as a 13th and 14th monthly salary. Individual company pension scheme and capital-forming benefits.

We want everyone at JTI to be themselves and develop their full potential, because each and every one of us makes a valuable contribution to the success of the company and the location in Germany. We live and promote diversity, equality and inclusion accordingly. We have local employee groups and networks, such as the PRIDE Chapter Germany or the togetHER network for female employees, in which committed colleagues are involved, and we support a wide range of projects in our local area. For this and many other activities in the area of diversity & inclusion, we have already been awarded the Global Equality Standard by Ernst & Young.

Sustainability & Commitment:

We have particularly close ties to the Trier region and the greater Cologne area through our two locations and want to make a significant contribution to a high quality of life, e.g., through annual clean-up campaigns on the Rhine and Moselle and as a long-standing partner of the Cologne Green Foundation, we are committed to the preservation and expansion of the city's green spaces. Renewable energies are also part of our sustainability goals, which is why we are investing in the expansion of the Bescheid Süd wind farm, located 20 kilometers east of our Trier site, in order to secure green electricity for the region and for our production at the Trier plant. We are constantly reducing the amount of plastic used in the packaging of our classic tobacco products, thus saving tons of plastic waste.
