Trade Investment Manager (Sales Region Based)
What this position is about – Purpose
The purpose of this role is to design, deploy and optimize trade programs at regional level across all channels, ensuring that trade funds are translated into measurable gains in distribution, availability and visibility. Reporting to the Trade Investment & Merchandising Manager, the Trade Investment Manager (Region) acts as the regional owner of trade investment allocation and management, bridging national strategy and field implementation. The role ensures that trade investment is disciplined, compliant, ROI-driven and executable, while remaining responsive to regional market dynamics.
Main areas of responsibility:
- Trade Program Design: Design region-specific trade programs across GT, MT, WS and HORECA, aligned with the national trade investment strategy and defined channel roles. Translate national principles into channel-appropriate trade mechanics focused on distribution expansion, availability improvement, visibility quality and assortment compliance. Ensure trade programs are simple, scalable, execution-ready and tailored to regional market dynamics.
- Trade Investment Planning & Deployment: Build regional trade investment plans by channel and trade segmentation, aligned with coverage priorities and sales plans. Manage phasing, prioritization and deployment of trade investment within approved guardrails. Ensure effective execution across fragmented GT and WS environments as well as structured MT and KA accounts where possible.
- Trade Program Governance & Compliance: Monitor execution quality and trade program compliance in market, working closely with RTC and Sales Effectiveness. Identify deviations, risks or misuse of trade investment and lead corrective actions, ensuring trade funds are deployed as intended and fully auditable.
- Performance Tracking & Regional Coordination: Track trade program performance against agreed KPIs (distribution gains, visibility quality, compliance, outlet coverage) and generate actionable insight to optimize in-flight and future programs. Act as the regional trade investment interface for Sales leadership, RTC, Sales Planning and Merchandising.
- Regulatory & Internal Compliance: Ensure all trade programs and trade investment activities are designed and executed in line with JTI Marketing Codes, internal trade investment policies and applicable national and local legislation.
Who we are looking for – Requirements:

- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification (desirable).
- 5+ years’ experience in tobacco/FMCG trade marketing, trade investment, channel or field sales management, ideally across head-office and field roles.
- Proven delivery of trade programs across GT, MT, Wholesale and HORECA.
- Experience managing trade spending, including phasing, guardrails and post-evaluation.

- Knowledge of regional channels (GT, MT, Wholesale and HORECA) and route-to-market structures.
- Strong governance mindset to identify trade-fund misuse and lead corrective action.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and reporting/BI tools.
