Job Title: Shift Lead
Reporting: Make & Pack Manager
Location: Tongi, Gazipur

Position Purpose:

The position is responsible for coordinating and supervising production activities during the assigned shift to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The role supports achievement of production, quality, cost, and delivery targets through effective manpower allocation, operational control, problem solving, and continuous improvement while ensuring adherence to IWS, EHS, and quality standards.

What Will You Do:

  • Coordinate and supervise shift production activities by allocating manpower, assigning priorities, and ensuring achievement of daily production plans and operational targets.
  • Monitor shift performance indicators including safety, quality, productivity, waste, and downtime, and take timely actions to address deviations and operational issues.
  • Lead shift communication routines including DS, shift handovers, escalation of critical issues, and follow-up of agreed action plans to ensure operational continuity.
  • Support implementation of IWS methodologies by driving loss elimination, problem solving, 5S3R practices, and adherence to standard work processes.
  • Coach and support operators and technicians through on-the-job guidance, training, and performance follow-up to strengthen capability and operational discipline.
  • Comply with JTI EHS and Quality policies and procedures.

We Expect from You:

  • Graduate of Engineering or Diploma (or equivalent) in Engineering from an accredited institute.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic in the tobacco or related industry, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Mechanical systems & maintenance practices, Preventive & corrective maintenance, IWS tools & methodologies, SAP or maintenance systems, Safety & quality standards, Basic MS Office skills, Troubleshooting & problem solving, Team collaboration & discipline.
