Job Title: KDF Mechanic
Reporting: Cell Lead
Location: Tongi, Gazipur

Position Purpose:

The KDF Mechanic ensures the optimal performance, maintenance, and technical cleanliness of KDF filter maker machines in a high-performance production environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production continuity, minimizing downtime, and improving equipment efficiency. By adhering to JTI’s safety, quality, and environmental standards, and actively supporting the Integrated Work System (IWS) framework, the KDF Mechanic contributes to continuous improvement, operational reliability, and sustained excellence on the shop floor.

What Will You Do:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on KFD machinery, conduct routine inspections and technical cleaning, analyze root causes of machine stoppages, and coordinate spare parts requirements to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor and improve machine performance in line with KPIs while implementing IWS tools such as 5S3R and Kaizen and supporting process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and yield.
  • Support production teams by providing operator training on machine operation and efficiency practices and operating machines when required to ensure production continuity.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and report machine issues and deviations using SAP and other relevant systems.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process and technology enhancements and staying updated with best practices in machinery maintenance.
  • Comply with JTI EEHS and Quality policies and procedures.

We Expect from You:

  • Graduate of Engineering or Diploma (or equivalent) in Engineering from an accredited institute.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic in the tobacco or related industry, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Mechanical systems & maintenance practices, Preventive & corrective maintenance, IWS tools & methodologies, SAP or maintenance systems, Safety & quality standards, Basic MS Office skills, Troubleshooting & problem solving, Team collaboration & discipline.
