Job Title: Focke Mechanic
Reporting: Cell Lead
Location: Tongi, Gazipur
Position Purpose:
The Focke Mechanic plays a key role in keeping Packer machines running smoothly and efficiently. This role is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical cleaning of Focke machines to ensure stable production, high machine performance, and product quality. It focuses on achieving high machine efficiency, adhering to JTI's quality and safety standards, and supporting the Integrated Work System (IWS) framework for continuous improvement. Working closely with operators, the mechanic also supports their technical training and actively contributes to equipment reliability, reduced downtime, and overall operational excellence on the shop floor.
What Will You Do:
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of packing machinery, including technical cleaning, root cause analysis of line stoppages, and coordination of spare parts requirements to ensure minimal downtime.
- Monitor and achieve machine performance KPIs, implement optimization actions using IWS tools, and ensure compliance with product specifications, quality standards, and methodologies such as 5S3R and Kaizen.
- Support production teams by training operators, collaborating to ensure seamless operations and high-quality output, and operating machinery when required to meet production targets.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities using SAP and other systems while preparing performance reports to support monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement and operational discipline by participating in IWS activities, process improvement projects, DDS routines, planned stops coordination, defect handling, quality monitoring, and communication of key issues to CST.
- Comply with JTI EEHS and Quality policies and procedures.
We Expect from You:
- Graduate of Engineering or Diploma (or equivalent) in Engineering from an accredited institute.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic in the tobacco or related industry, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Mechanical systems & maintenance practices, Preventive & corrective maintenance, IWS tools & methodologies, SAP or maintenance systems, Safety & quality standards, Basic MS Office skills, Troubleshooting & problem solving, Team collaboration & discipline.
