Import & Logistics Manager
The Import & Logistics Manager handles the full cycle of import operations and logistics activities within the local market. This includes ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, coordinating with GSC, and overseeing the efficient movement and storage of goods. The role requires strong operational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of supply chain, import, and logistics processes.
Position:
As Import and Logistics Manager, you will:
- Oversee end-to-end import processes, including procurement, international shipping, and customs clearance.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies.
- Validate import documents and ensure adherence to trade regulations.
- Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning aligned with JTI’s strategy.
- Maintain an 18-month rolling forecast and synchronise with sourcing factories.
- Monitor product shelf life to meet JTI quality standards.
- Manage volume inputs across OL, LE, and A&SP cycles in collaboration with Finance.
- Ensure timely shipments and deliveries.
- Track production and shipment schedules for market readiness.
- Supervise POSM warehouse operations, inventory checks, and destruction processes.
- Serve as the main contact for product-related issues across internal teams and external partners.
- Track product portfolio changes and report on NTM capacity and bottlenecks.
- Analyse product quality and logistics issues using JTI tools.
- Facilitate sourcing changes, new product introductions, and NTM coordination.
- Develop sourcing scenarios and contribute to RTM strategy.
- Define and implement RTM metrics and benchmarks.
Within 6 months, you will:
- Build the Department for Import and Logistics
- Learn JTI culture and ways of working
Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
- Advanced user of SAP & MS Office standard applications
- 3 years minimum experience in the area of Logistics and Import
- Leadership profile with strategic thinking
- Influential, strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good planning and ability to prioritise tasks
- Hands-on, result-driven and analytical skills profile
