Commercial Finance Manager, Caucasus

What this position is about – Purpose:

The position exists to lead a team of junior specialists and drive profitable growth across the product categories in JTI’s Caucasus Cluster organization covering our businesses in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia  by partnering with Commercial Leadership (Marketing, Sales, Country Managers (Azerbaijan and Armenia), Category, Distribution and Trade). You will provide forward‑looking insights into performance management and robust governance for budgeting and investments. The role supports the Cluster Management in aligning financial planning with strategic and tactical commercial goals, while managing multi‑category performance across key KPIs such as Volume, Core Revenue, Profit, Profit Margin, and Market Free Cash Flow.

What will you do – Responsibilities:

  • Act as Finance Partner to Cluster & Market Commercial Leadership, challenging commercial plans to optimize Core Revenue, margins and marketing ROI across markets and categories.
  • Support Sales and Country Managers in negotiations with distributors by assessing commercial terms and the financial position of business partners.
  • Lead and coordinate multi‑category commercial planning and forecasting (Trade & Marketing investments) and consolidate cluster‑level inputs.
  • Explain performance variances and steer corrective business actions.
  • Prepare and deliver financial insights, presentations and recommendations for Cluster and Market leadership.
  • Drive governance of commercial and trade investments, including ROI methodology, Profit/NPV/FCF assessments, benefits tracking and post‑evaluations for investment requests.
  • Validate price lists.
  • Provide clear, scenario‑based financial modelling to support decision making and identify profit improvement opportunities.
  • Simplify recurring analyses and ensure consistent KPI definitions across markets; deliver standardized dashboards for leadership.
  • Lead and develop a team of 2 finance professionals, fostering an inclusive environment that supports growth and development.

 

Who are we looking for – Requirements:

Education: 

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent.
  • CIMA, ACCA, MBA or other international finance qualifications are an advantage

Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance or marketing/trade investment management in an international FMCG.
  • Experience leading teams or cross‑functional/cross‑country projects

Skills:

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of FMCG market dynamics, competitive landscape and commercial cycles.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong financial modelling skills; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and modern planning/reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence decisions.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple, actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and financial statements; SAP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; Georgian or Russian is an advantage
