Treasury Associate

The Treasury Associate is responsible for supporting the end-to-end treasury activities of JTI Taiwan (JTI TW) and JTI Manufacturing (JTIM), working closely with the Regional Treasury Director to ensure effective financial risk management, liquidity optimization, and compliance with internal and external requirements.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • Leading local financing activities and leading all aspects of daily liquidity and cash flow operations
  • Supporting and maintaining relationships with local, regional, and international banking partners

The role ensures that all applicable treasury governance frameworks, policies, and processes are effectively implemented and maintained at the entity level. The Treasury Associate also supports broader Group Treasury initiatives, including customer credit management, global banking coordination, cash management projects, foreign exchange risk management, and cash forecasting. In addition, the role collaborates closely with the local Tax Team, providing support and acting as a backup resource for selected tax-related activities.

As the Treasury Associate, you will:

  • Local Entity Financing (2 entities)
    • Maintain relationships with local banks in relation to credit facilities, financing arrangements, and guarantee lines
    • Ensure timely preparation and submission of documentation to regulators, including Central Bank reporting and compliance requirements
    • Monitor financing utilization and ensure alignment with Group Treasury strategy and policies
  • Cash Management
    • Monitor and lead daily cash positions of JTI TW and JTIM to ensure adequate liquidity and optimal cash utilization
    • Analyze and improve short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts
  • Planning, Cash Repatriation Strategies & Processes
    • Assist in the preparation, coordination, and review of financial planning and forecasting activities from a treasury perspective
    • Analyze and assess treasury implications of business flows, including impact on liquidity, profitability, and key financial metrics
    • Support execution of cash repatriation strategies
  • Treasury Operations
    • Handle the lifecycle of bank accounts, including opening, maintenance, and closure in line with governance standards
    • Coordinate with regulators and internal partners on loan registrations and approvals, where required
    • Implement and monitor foreign exchange (FX) transactions
    • Ensure full compliance with Group Treasury policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Collaboration with Tax Team
    • Act as a backup for selected local tax processes as required
    • Support the Tax Team in ensuring that treasury activities are structured in a tax-efficient and compliant manner.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business, Economics or Accounting. Professional qualification CFA/ACT/CTP/ACCA is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of Treasury experience (or in Finance area) in a multinational company
  • Good knowledge of treasury products, accounting, and local banking sector.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in MS Office. Experience in SAP is a plus. Positive attitude and be willing to corporate with different teams.
