Finance Manager

 

The role is responsible for overseeing IFRS, statutory, and tax accounting for JTI Taiwan and JTIM, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury operations, and audit requirements. The position also ensures compliance with internal controls, Company Operating Guidelines, and JSOX requirements while supporting the overall finance governance framework. The incumbent reports to the Finance Controlling Director alongside the ECC Manager, Finance Supervisors, and Finance Analysts.

 

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

 

1. Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and audit activities to ensure compliance with IFRS, Taiwan GAAP, and local tax regulations.
  • Partner with GBS, Finance teams, and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting, smooth month-end close processes, and timely submission of financial reports.

2. Internal Control, Compliance, and JSOX

  • Ensure compliance with JSOX, internal controls, global policies, and Record-to-Report (R2R) process requirements.
  • Lead internal and external compliance audits, identify process improvement opportunities, and promote a strong compliance culture across the organization.

3. Tax Compliance and Treasury

  • Support tax compliance activities by ensuring accurate tax reporting, maintaining proper documentation, and coordinating with tax authorities and external consultants.
  • Work closely with the Treasury team to monitor cash flow, optimize funding needs, and maintain strong relationships with banking partners.

4. Global Initiatives and Corporate Communications

  • Act as the main contact for global teams and support corporate initiatives, system implementations, and process improvements for the Taiwan market.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and global functions to assess business impacts, provide market insights, and ensure successful project execution.

5. RPA Project Implementation

  • Identify opportunities for process automation and support the development and implementation of RPA solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure successful deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of automation projects.

Ad Hoc Support

  • Provide support for special projects and serve as a backup for AP/AR activities when required.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, or ACCA are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within multinational companies, with strong hands-on experience in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Solid background in internal controls, compliance, financial reporting, and statutory accounting. Experience with Taiwanese accounting regulations, IFRS, and JSOX requirements is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with a Big Four accounting firm is an advantage. Exposure to cost accounting, ERP systems, SAP, and RPA projects is a plus.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate information accurately between both languages.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Excellent time management, reporting, presentation, and stakeholder management skills are required.
