Record to Report Specialist - Temporary
Reporting to Record to Report Center Process Manager, the R2R team provide consistent, efficient, effective and accurate service delivery in transactional requests, analysis and reporting in the areas of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Controlling, Cash Management, Financial Supply Chain Management (TMO/TBO) and VAT / GST compliance. The team work closely with business partners in Asia Pacific (Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam) and Americas (Canada and USA) to perform activities in full compliance with JTI Accounting & IFRS requirements, Corporate policies and procedures, GBS internal guidelines, individual market requirements and JSOX GRM as per the Service Level Agreements.
What will you do?
- Transactional Processing and Month-End:
Perform all Record to Report (AA/GL/CO/CM/FSCM) transactional requests activities by ensuring:
(i) All requests are processed timely and accurately in accordance with requirements stipulated in the SLA (ii) All month-end closing activities are performed in accordance with JTI global closing schedule - Analysis and Reporting:
Ensure accuracy of analysis and timely distribution of all analysis and reporting services to all relevant parties relating to :
i) Bank reconciliation ii) Consolidation bank reconciliation and bank fees report for Global Treasury reporting
iii) Local VAT /GST reporting
iv) All other analysis/reports listed in the SLA, as well as any adhoc requests from time to time - Control and Compliance:
Ensure and uphold strong control environment in the organization. This is achieved by:
(i) Maintaining knowledge of IFRS and local statutory requirements, where relevant (ii) Adhering to JTI policies & procedures and all internal control practices
(iii) Implementing J-SOX controls and keeping all required evidence as a Control Owner
(iv) Support on system testing as required, ensuring any changes are thoroughly understood and impact on R2R team activities assessed - Business Partnering and Collaboration:
Demonstrate dedication to achieve service excellence through:
(i) Cultivate good team spirit and "can do" demeanor within and across the team (ii) Ensure timely resolution and closure of queries and issues (both internal and external)
(iii) Ensure effective communication with business partners
(iv) Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with all partners - Operational Improvement:
Embrace GBS Mission and Vision to achieve operational excellent through
(i) Constantly develop the required business and process knowledge including maintaining process documentation to kept up to date (ii) Perform regular review on R2R operational metrics and KPIs to identify and make recommendations that optimize / improve business processes. This includes involve in process improvement implementation, system testing, and/or any improvement initiative assigned.
Who are we looking for?
- Willing to take a temporary (contract-based) employment (12 months).
- University degree or equivalent experience in finance related field, plus accounting professional qualification desired (CPA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Minimum 6 years work experience with 3-4 years in a finance related role, shared services and SAP experience desirable
- Fluent in English (oral and written), knowledge of the languages of the countries within GBS scope is a plus

Accounting and Finance skills:
-
The ability to interpret and apply professional accounting standards and principles such as IFRS.

SAP Financial Closing Cockpit experience is a plus

Experience in month end closing activities in a manufacturing company is a plus

Knowledge in SAP and high adaptibility to environment and process changes is a plus

Internal Control Environment - Ability to apply and remediate sound financial governance principles including internal controls and J-Sox.

Indirect Tax Accounting - Understanding of concepts related to indirect taxes (VAT, GST etc)

Technical skills - Competent in SAP and MS office applications.
