Product Configurator Analyst Manager

 

 

The Product Configurator Analyst Manager, reporting to the Product Configurator Expert Manager and solution owner, serves as a key D&IT guardian of the solution throughout its build phase and ongoing operational support. In this role, you will assess, implement, and coordinate testing for business requirements, changes, and enhancements, while ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will also manage maintenance and upgrades from the BTS side, address technical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance functionality. This position requires strong functional and technical expertise, the ability to configure the system, prepare technical documentation for the development team, and act as a bridge between Business and D&IT by translating requirements into effective technical solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.

 

You will play an active role during project execution, particularly in tool development and configuration, and quickly learn the CPQ solution to configure the system in line with BTS D&IT responsibilities. The role also involves gaining knowledge of the end-to-end Data Preparation and Migration process to provide support in issue resolution. Additionally, you will ensure IT governance on Marketing & Sales-related matters, maintain transparent communication, and adhere to JTI D&IT configuration and development standards.

 

As the Product Configurator Analyst Manager in the area of BTS M&S Digital Excellence, you will do the following:

 

1.) Business Relationship Management - Understand business needs and priorities across the end-to-end Product Configurator process, including its impact on GSC, PLM, and R&D processes, as well as Marketing & Sales requirements. Coordinate initiatives that deliver business value in alignment with the Digital and IT strategy. Provide functional expertise for the Product Configurator application, ensuring its effective adoption, proper use, and continuous evolution to meet changing business needs.


2.) Project Backlog Processing (DevOps) - Work on assigned projects and demands, ensuring tasks are completed as planned and aligned with JTI IT quality standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks to secure successful project delivery. Manage the project backlog for agile initiatives in DevOps, including Epics, Features, and User Stories, and lead sprint planning and review activities to maintain transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


3.) Product Configurator Implementation - Develop functional expertise in the configuration aspects of the tool while building a solid understanding of its technical components. Gather business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications, collaborate on technical options to meet business needs, perform integration testing before UAT, and manage bug fixing and retesting. Actively participate in daily follow-up and refinement meetings to ensure alignment, progress tracking, and continuous improvement.


4.) BTS M&S BAU - Handle incoming incident resolutions promptly and effectively, assess and process new demands or change requests, and perform regular tool maintenance, including participation in releases and proactive system monitoring of interfaces, to ensure stability and optimal performance.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT function or IT consulting
  • Experience with solutions supporting Marketing & Sales HQ and/or R&D functions is a plus
  • 3+ years of SAP solution configuration or functional support; experience working with remote teams is an advantage
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Willingness to quickly learn new SAP technologies (such as CPQ) to assess business requirements and configure the system independently or in collaboration with the development team
  • Strong ability to analyze business requirements and processes, mapping them to technical solution capabilities
  • Experience with SAP S4 solutions, particularly Material Master, BOM, and Change Order, is highly desirable
  • Experience with SAP CPQ technology is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including DevOps
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong connections across international virtual IT teams and markets
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives and cross-cultural collaboration
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
