Finance Analyst - Budget & Reporting
(Fleet Operations)

The Fleet Budget & Reporting Specialist provides financial governance and analytical support to the Fleet function, focusing on budget planning, cost control, financial reporting, and reconciliation of fleet‑related expenses. The role supports the management of a large, nationwide leased vehicle fleet, ensuring cost transparency, billing accuracy, and close coordination with Finance, Accounts Payable, and fleet partners.

This position is built to address current operational and reconciliation backlogs and is suited for finance professionals with hands‑on experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and lease accounting, particularly in asset‑heavy or operational environments.

As a Fleet Budget & Reporting Specialist, you will:

  • Prepare and manage the annual and monthly fleet budget, covering lease rentals, repairs and maintenance, fuel, penalties, damages, and other fleet‑related costs.
  • Monitor actual fleet spend versus approved budget and perform variance analysis, explaining drivers such as utilization changes, billing adjustments, or operational factors.
  • Validate and reconcile lessor and vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, contract compliance, and accurate vehicle tagging prior to payment.
  • Coordinate closely with Finance / FP&A, Accounts Payable, Lease Accounting (GBS), and Fleet Operations to resolve billing issues and clear reconciliation backlogs.
  • Support month‑end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting using finance systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Build, maintain, and improve fleet financial reports, trackers, and dashboards, providing clear cost access to stakeholders.
  • Participate in discussions with lessors and vendors to resolve disputed invoices and unpaid items, in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
  • Ensure fleet financial data and reports are accurate, complete, and audit‑ready.
  • Assist with ad‑hoc analyses, projects, or reporting requests related to fleet financial management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in:
    • Budgeting and financial analysis
    • Cost control or OPEX management
    • Accounting or reconciliation work in asset‑heavy environments
  • Solid understanding of lease accounting (e.g., IFRS 16 concepts) and leasing contracts
  • Experience using SAP or similar finance systems for reconciliation and reporting
  • Strong Excel skills (budget tracking, reconciliations, data analysis)
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with compliance‑critical financial data
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with Finance, Operations, and external partners
  • Strong communication skills to explain numbers, variances, and issues clearly
  • Must be amenable to a temporary/contractual role (12 months).
  • Candidates with a strong finance background (FP&A, financial analysis, accounting) and exposure to fleet, leasing, or asset management are highly encouraged to apply.

What to Expect?

  • At JTI, you will work in a high‑impact, data‑driven environment where accuracy, accountability, and teamwork are essential. As a Fleet Budget & Reporting Specialist, you will gain hands‑on exposure to large‑scale budget management, lease accounting, and cross‑functional financial operations, while playing a key role in stabilizing and strengthening fleet financial controls.
