Scandinavia Tax Manager
You will manage Indirect and Direct tax across Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark, Norway), ensuring compliance with local laws. Responsibilities include accurate tax reporting, handling audits, overseeing external tax advisors, and monitoring regulatory changes. You'll also ensure efficient internal tax processes in line with company policies.
The role
In this role, you will:
- Oversee direct and indirect taxes across Scandinavian markets, including the Nordic Snus factory, ensuring timely, accurate business decisions and compliance.
- Monitor tax legislation and regulatory changes; report to Global Tax, local management, and relevant teams.
- Proactively assess tax impacts on the business and support broader development initiatives and cross-functional needs.
- Act as the main contact for external tax consultants and manage related budgets.
- Review excise tax returns, import duties, and related claims.
- Manage customs and excise authorizations across the three markets and Nordic Snus.
- Handle tax audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Ensure accurate tax reporting and provision calculations for quarterly and annual reporting, including sign-offs and budgeting support.
- Prepare internal and external direct tax reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly), including tax returns and accounting for annual reports. Maintain tax policies and internal controls.
- Support transfer pricing changes in collaboration with the JTI Business Model and Global Tax teams.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and calculations for Scandinavia.
Requirements
- University- or college degree in Finance/ Business administration or Law, minimum 5 years of work experience in relevant Tax/Finance roles
- Minimum 5 years of work experience within Tax/accounting. Experience of working in an international company and with international reporting
- Fluent in English, Swedish will be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Powerpoint and Excel. Previous experience in SAP is a plus
