Trade Activation Associate

 

The primary objective of the position is to enhance JTI Korea's engagement with trade partners in order to strengthen the business partnership and drive retailers' affinity for JTI brands. The Trade Activation Associate will support the development of trade engagement programs based on understanding and insight of the retailer mindset. The scope includes (but is not limited to) development, planning, implementation, monitoring and performance measurement of the trade programs. The incumbent will be reporting to the Consumer & Trade Activation manager, and he/she will closely work with other Marketing & Sales teams.

 

What will you do?

 

  • Develop and implement Trade Engagement plan by leveraging trade insights and understanding of retailer/frontliner mindset:
    • Set retailer selection criteria
    • Identify and develop appropriate programs to drive retailer engagement and strengthen relationship with JTI 
    • Colloborate and communicate closely with Sales Planning and Field Force to ensure that programs are executed correctly and to a high standard
    • Work closely with other marketing teams to ensure programs are in line with overall strategy and synergize with brand campaigns where possible
    • Manage agencies to develop all required materials/visual assets for trade engagement initiatives
    • Work with Legal/CA/ER teams to ensure trade engagement initiatives are compliant with internal policies and guidelines
  • Track and measure performance of trade engagement initatives:
    • Define evaluation metrics (short term and long term KPIs) for trade enagement activities
    • Perform analysis to evaluate effectiveness, and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Ensure performance objectives are in line with overall business strategy
    • Work with Strategic Insights to conduct trade research whenever necesssary
  • Budget and project management:
    • Manage all internal administrative and approval processes related to trade engagement
    • Manage trade engagement budget and ensure that total spend is within approved amount 
    • Work closely with PPO and Finance to ensure that all procurement and finance related matters are in line with JTI policies and guidelines
  • Provide additional support to Activation team as and when needed.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • High standard of university degree (required) major in business, marketing or other relevant discipline preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in FMCG trade marketing, channel management or field trade marketing
  • Experience in B2B promotion is an advantage 
  • Understanding and experience in CRM (both offline and online channels) is an advantage
  • Spoken and written English and Korean 
  • Good knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good business acumen and strategic understanding of Trade Marketing in FMCG / Retail or equivalent industry
  • Strong data and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational/project management skills with strong problem solving ability
  • Ability to establish rapport, credibility, and positive working relationship at all organizational levels and with team members
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
