Strategic Insights Associate


The incumbent, working very closely with Strategic Foresight Manager is responsible for assisting in developing and reporting of consumer and trade insights. He/She will focus on the precise analysis and clear reporting of consumer and trade trend, competitive activity, and JTI's performance in Korean market. He/She will be major support during annual strategic planning process. He/she will act as a repository of learning's about the consumers, trade, marketing programs/activities and be trusted interpreter of the Korean tobacco marketplace. He/She will drive optimal knowledge sharing to the local Marketing & Sales functions as well as with Asia Pacific regional team and global HQ.


What will you do?


  • Leads the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and ad hoc analysis (in cooperation with SI Manager) with a focus on consumer behavior. Ensure continuous follow-up and sound analysis of consumer, shopper, competitive and trade data. 
  • Monitors constantly competitive activities aimed at the consumer and trade in order to highlight competitive strategies and communicate this information. Highlights any potential problems or issues that could arise in order to take action or take opportunistics advantage versus competition.
  • Manage research suppliers ensure high quality data, reports and account services. Works with tracking suppliers to improve quality of reporting and improve the insight generated from their data. 
  • Develop research projects to provide information on consumer needs/profiles/behaviors, segmentation dynamics, channel and trade characteristics as well as equity of JTI brands working in close collabortion with HQ/AP Region SI group and local research agencies.
  • Work in close collaboration with respective stakeholderes of Marketing and Sales department in order to ensure a focus on information (insight and intelligence) needs and optimal capture of lessons learnt


Who are we looking for?


  • High standard of university degree
  • 1-5 years relevant experience in FMCG Insights or marketing functions
  • Solid background in consumer/brand/trade analysis and research techniques with good commercial acumen
  • Research agency experience is an advantage
  • Cross-cultural experience
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in both English and Korean
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) 
  • PowerBI experience is a plus.
