IT Business Solutions Manager


As IT Business Solutions Manager in Korea Market, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that global and local systems and business partners' infrastructure utilized for JTI applications are in place and running to support the business. 
A key objective is to develop proofs of concept to evaluate innovations and bring enterprise scalable technology and services to new and existing platforms. The incumbent is also accountable for ensuring that IT solutions are compliant with JTI IT Policies & Procedures as well as security guidelines, and any changes are managed in accordance with JTI's Project Management Framework. The IT Business Solutions Manager is responsible for developing strong business partnerships with the user community and ensuring timely communication of IT matters. He/She is also responsible for ensuring good coordination and working relationship with all internal and external service providers. Being the leader of IT Business Solutions Team in Market, he/she will be responsible for guiding, coaching and motivating team members, share best practices, exchange ideas, and promote open discussions or forums which create exposure to other regional and global IT teams.     


What will you do?


  • Project Management
    • Accountable for the overall management and support of business application projects in the Market. Ensure that projects are managed in accordance with JTI's Project Management Framework, and adhere to operating guidelines. 
    • Responsible for ensuring that the solution delivered meets and supports business requirements and are within the planned timeline, cost and defined scope. Also responsible for managing the local roll-out of global business application initiatives, in close collaboration with Global Business Technology Services teams.
  • Processes and Solutions Improvement
    • Based on good working knowledge of existing business processes/systems and IT technologies,  proactively looks for potential business improvements, evaluates existing best IT-related practices (inside/outside JTI), shares information among the business community and provides recommendations for implementation within the Market.
    • Includes respective Management Team Members (including ExCom) in decision-making process regarding proposed solutions/improvements, setting right priorities based on business criticality, required resources planning, leads discussion process, gathers and shares participants' feedback and facilitates making the final decision.
    • Accountable for business requirements collection and verification, design and implementation of appropriate Market IT solutions/projects/services (Business Application's scope: applications, infrastructure, resources, and external/internal services) in alignment with strategic objectives and Operating Guidelines. 
    • Responsible for coordination with the Global/Regional project team and IT resource planning on the Market side to support the implementation/modification of the corporate IT systems (SAP, TME, etc.). Accountable for the implementation of Market solutions covering the functionality required by business functions but not existing in the corporate IT systems (SAP, TME, etc.), and program interfaces between these solutions and corporate IT systems. 
    • Ensures the usage of current Project Methodology standards within his/her team, as well as within Business functions during cross functional projects.     
  • Internal and External Service Providers (Business Application's systems/services)
    • Establishes effective working relationships with Internal (Business Technology Services, Global Technical Center, Global Development Center, IT Security) and External IT Service Providers. 
    • Ensures that all required resources (Internal/External) are appropriately evaluated and planned to meet the business requirements.
    • Responsible for making decisions regarding External IT Service Provider(s) selection under Operating Guidelines and JTI Policies & Procedures. 
    • Accountable for contract preparation and execution, in coordination with Legal/Procurement. Ensures timely and sufficient fulfillment of commitments by Providers. 
    • Proactively escalates issues to IT Director and inform/update him/her about proposed/made decisions.
  • Leadership and People Management
    • Lead Market IT Solutions team in Korea, guide and coach the team members in developing their career, motivating team members to enhance service delivery skills by sharing best practices, exchanging ideas, encouraging open discussions or forums which create exposure to other regional and global IT teams. 
    • Ensure team members are appropriately equipped with the required skill set to meet the support expectations. Fully responsible for Goal Setting and Personal Development processes for the team. 
    • Manages resolution of possible conflicts and helps teams/project groups to negotiate through disagreements. Manage timely updates to IT and business management of key IT activities in the Korea market.    
  • Operational Support 
    • Responsible for ensuring proper prioritization and timely resolution of local application related incidents. Coordinate with internal and external service providers to ensure that appropriate and adequate testing is performed and fixes are deployed with a minimal business interruption. Effectively prioritize and manage issues escalation, promote excellent customer service and adopt a proactive approach in resolving problems. 


Who are we looking for?


  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in IT business application management, with strong knowledge and practical experience in the planning, design, implementation and operational supports of business applications. 
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information System or related discipline (additional Business education is a plus).
  • Experience in strategic communication with business management and people management is a must. 
  • Experience in managing end-to-end planning, delivery and control of business application projects is a must.
  • Functional knowledge and experienced with IT service management systems. 
  • Prior employment with a multinational consumer goods company is preferred.
  • Substantial project management experience. Related certification is a plus.
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability.
  • Extensive knowledge on software architecture, integration and management, as well as CRM and analytic platform, including application development standard and platform (C# .Net, MVC Framework), data storage (SQL, Stored Procedure) and modern CRM/BI (Power BI). 
  • Adequate knowledge of Microsoft technology standards (e.g., Microsoft AD, Windows Servers, Azure Cloud).
  • ITIL knowledge/certification is an added advantage.
  • Fluency in both English and Korean is required.
  • With good understanding of sales processes in a consumer goods industry is preferred.
