Trade Marketing Manager

 

 

Position purpose

 

You will be accountable to the Sales Manager for contributing to the business area's profitability through excellent visibility and execution at the POS, merchandising, showcasing, and brand equity.

 

You will also be responsible for the planning, organization, and management of six trade marketeers to ensure the achievement of area objectives established in the annual plan.

 

 

What will you do – responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute the Annual Plan to achieve marketing and sales objectives through the implementation of an appropriate product mix, in-store presence, activations, and promotions.
  • Manage all trade promotions, scheduling them based on the bi-monthly marketing calendar to strengthen our long-term position in the Andorran market within JTI-Tabandor policy. Contribute to and execute marketing plans and projects with clear strategies for Andorra and Pas de la Casa, ensuring the translation of strategies into actionable plans that maximize sales, growth, and profitability. Conduct weekly market visits to monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, current promotions, and stock levels across points of sale.
  • Develop and implement visibility activities and programs within the POS, ensuring compliance with company marketing standards and guidelines, in close collaboration with the marketing manager. Implement all consumer promotion programs and materials defined by the marketing department on time and accurately.
  • Be responsible for managing the current trade marketeers team, including location and POS assignments (Andorra/Pas de la Casa), promotional process management (product selection, price differentials, sales argumentation, etc.), and corporate image.
  • Track down sellout data by SKU and analyze each product on a weekly basis for each POS store. Monitor stock movement (rotation) to stores, and suggest promotions or trade deals for slow-moving or near-expiry products. Ensure continuous follow-up and a consumer-centric approach.
  • Be responsible for monitoring competitor activity, evaluating visibility, and assessing market coverage of our products. Create and maintain weekly reports, KPIs, and local/regional meeting documentation (sales conferences, board meetings, external visits, etc.). Actively participate in monthly and annual strategic planning by providing feedback on the current and future market situation.
  • Train, coach, and develop subordinates by progressively expanding knowledge transfer to support career development and succession planning, including performance updates, evaluations, and recommendations. Lead the relationship between the sales force and trade marketeers to foster a high level of competence. Execute any other activities, special projects, or tasks assigned by the direct manager.                                                             

 

 

Who are we looking for – requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field (required)
  • MBA or similar (desirable)
  • 3 years of experience in Trade Marketing, preferably in the tobacco, vape, or FMCG industry
  • 3 years of experience in people management
  • Fluent Spanish & Catalan, English at CAE level
  • Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Power BI & SAP knowledge (plus)
  • People management
  • Strong communication skills – ability to build trusted relationships internally & externally
  • Planning & organization and problem-solving skills
  • Project management and analytical skills
