Trade Strategy Executive

The key objective of this position is to drive the company's business objectives by strengthening relationships with key retailers, a strategically critical role in a highly restricted market. The incumbent will support the Trade Strategy manager to plan and implement key engagement programs and initiatives targeted at top 300 high volume retailers ('Star Partners') to cement JTI's position as the preferred business partner.

As the Trade Strategy Executive, you will:

  • Support the development of annual trade engagement strategy
    • Support Trade Strategy manager in the development of annual trade engagement strategy to strengthen retailer partnerships.
  • Lead full implementation of offline trade initiatives
    • Based on defined trade engagement strategy, plan and execute all offline trade initiatives including but not limited to (1) Face to face events (2) Store activations (3) Engagement touchpoints and rewards tied to retailer partnership program
    • Partner with multiple team members (e.g. agencies, Sales, Marketing & GIP functions) to ensure timely implementation to trade with quality execution
    • Evaluate deployed initiatives against established critical metrics to assess performance, impact, and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Development of trade communication strategy and trade collaterals  
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and implement trade communication strategy, ensuring timely and impactful communication in line with commercial initiatives and overall strengthen trade partner engagement
    • Collaborate with agencies and suppliers to develop trade collaterals in line with defined annual trade engagement strategy including but not limited to (1) Retailer partnership program branding toolkits & assets  (2) Digital trade communication assets
    • Management and execution of Joint Industry Display (JID), serving as the primary liaison with Corporate Affairs & Communication, external suppliers and relevant industry partners 
  • Budget management
    • Budget management for JID, individual engagement program/ initiatives and consolidation for timely reporting to Trade Strategy manager.
    • Lead all related adminstrative purchasing tasks (e.g. vendor creation, PR/PO)

Who are we looking for?

  • University degree
  • Candidates with at least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in consumer & trade marketing in an FMCG operating environment in Singapore.
  • Candidates with experience in customer relationship management and events management is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin. The ability to converse in dialect is an added advantage. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Powerpoint) 
  • Good presentation and writing skills
  • Strong project management skills (planning & driving full implementation of trade initiatives) 
  • Good communicator including internal & external partners, and teamwork cross-functionally
  • Ability to work with data (marketing and sales data analysis)  
  • Budget management
