Grading Supervisor - Jewha
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grading Supervisor to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the grading operations to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all grading activities. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining the standards of our product or service, impacting overall customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and control all leaf grading and related activities at the assigned LOC, including preparation of work schedules before each grading season.
- Ensure the timely availability of manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources required for grading operations.
- Oversee cured leaf grading, conditioning, moisture control, packing, labeling, and transfer to warehouse operations while ensuring compliance with established quality standards.
- Monitor grading-related costs, labor utilization, daily manpower assignments, and wage payments in line with established norms.
- Implement measures to minimize operational losses and improve efficiency throughout the production process.
- Collaborate closely with the Curing and Field Agronomy teams to ensure timely offloading of cured leaf and optimal utilization of curing capacity.
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, hygiene and sanitation standards, moisture control requirements, NTRM-free processing practices, and product quality standards.
- Lead, coach, support, and supervise grading teams and related personnel while monitoring performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support trials and improvement projects related to grading operations and report outcomes as required.
- Perform other duties and projects assigned by the line manager.
Required Skills and Experience
- BSc Degree or College Diploma in Plant Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, or Dry Land Farming.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience for BSc holders, or 6 years for College Diploma holders, with direct experience in tobacco leaf curing.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a grading, quality control, or related operational environment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities to inspire and guide diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
- Good organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and manage resources efficiently.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey grading standards and feedback clearly.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements pertinent to grading processes.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software commonly used in grading and reporting.
