Finance Control Accountant (Temporary - 12 months)

 

The Finance Control Accountant is responsible for executing core accounting, accounts payable, tax filing, and financial closing activities for the Korea market. The role ensures all financial transactions, payments, reconciliations, and tax-related processes are completed accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with statutory and internal requirements. The position also supports continuous improvement of finance processes and works closely with both local stakeholders and Global Business Services.

 

As Finance Control Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Accounts Payable & Payment Management. Manage payment processing, including preparation of payment templates, execution coordination, and monitoring of schedules; resolve vendor payment issues and perform reconciliations such as purchase price variances.
  • Tax Filing & Operations Support. Handle VAT filing activities, including data review and reconciliation, coordination with Global Business Services, and consolidation of required tax information from internal stakeholders.
  • Closing & Statutory Audit Support. Support month-end and year-end closing activities, particularly AP-related items; contribute to statutory reporting, audit requirements, and ad-hoc financial reporting needs.
  • Other Tax Reporting. Manage additional tax-related filings such as annual waste fund reporting, including data preparation, stakeholder coordination, and support for annual tax reporting requirements.
  • Operational Support & Process Improvement. Support finance operations, internal controls, projects, and documentation, while contributing to process improvements and handling ad-hoc finance tasks.

 

You'll ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification is a plus
  • Around 5–7 years of experience in accounting, tax, or finance operations, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, VAT filing, and tax operations
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) and solid Excel skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple priorities
  • Proactive in resolving issues, with good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Native Korean with intermediate English proficiency
