Rewards Manager USA
What this position is about:
This role serves as a rewards partner, participating in the development & implementation of comprehensive pay and benefits strategies to attract and retain the best talent in the USA. It is also responsible for providing guidance and support to the different business units on various compensation & benefits related activities, in addition to supporting the implementation of global projects at local level.
The “Rewards Manager” part of the Rewards team USA, reports to the Total Rewards & Org Design Director, and works with the rewards and P&C team in an agile way to ensure the best quality services are provided to our employees in the areas of compensation, payroll, pension, and benefits, ensuring compliance with local legislation, market practices and company's guidelines.
This role allows to develop a high level of interaction with different stakeholders, and an enriching experience in a dynamic environment including Region, Leaf Origins, Ready-Made Cigarettes Manufacturing & Market operations.
Responsibilities:
Compensation
- Prepare compensation and separation scenarios, in line with Rewards guidelines.
- Support with market salary benchmarking via participation in salary surveys, and local compensation analysis to ensure our pay is fair and competitive.
- Participate in global JTI compensation processes (annual salary reviews, local & corporate incentive plans, etc.).
- Conduct different payrolls cycles, ensuring accurate and timely submission, while working closely with tax advisors to ensure payroll tax compliance for both local employees and international assignees.
Benefits portfolio
- Participate in implementing a competitive benefits portfolio in line with market practices.
- Partner with insurance providers/ brokers to ensure best services and rates for employees.
- Process local benefits in compliance with statutory requirements and submit regular benefits reports.
- Support with benefits open enrolment process and ensure accurate file feed between payroll and benefits carriers.
Pension program - 401(K)
- Administer the USA pension program, 401(K), including testing, plan documentation, contributions, loans, withdrawals, communications etc., ensuring statutory requirements are met.
- Consult with the local Record Keeper advisors to ensure necessary regulatory updates are timely implemented and organize quarterly committee meetings to coordinate investment portfolio correction, if and as required.
Budgeting and Reporting
- Support the P&C budgeting process through the different planning cycles for all existing JTI business units/ cost centers in the USA, ensuring 100% accuracy in information and timely submission at all times.
- Prepare and submit monthly/ quarterly accruals and postings, while collaborating with the Finance team, external tax advisor and various functional stakeholders, as necessary.
- Participate in updating rewards processes/ policies, as necessary, for optimal organization structure and workflows.
Projects
- Support with rewards global/ local projects, including integration activities, transitions to regional vendors, system-related and process-driven transformation projects etc., ensuring strong collaboration with respective functions and Global Rewards.
- Support with organizational design activities, when and as necessary, in line with job architecture guidelines and OD metrics.
Requirements:
A dynamic, enthusiastic, and result-oriented person, with:
- Minimum of 3 years of Rewards experience, reflecting a strong Compensation & Benefits profile.
- Experience working with GBS on various People & Culture activities (Employee Lifecycle, Organizational Structure Management etc.).
- Demonstrated working knowledge on HR systems (i.e., SuccessFactors, local payroll, and benefits portals etc.).
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with proven experience of cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience demonstrating ability to communicate efficiently across the organization.
- Proven experience in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Fluency in English language.
- High integrity and sense of responsibility.
- Proven experience of effective working in culturally diverse environment.
- Experience and/or knowledge of US payroll and pension is advantageous.
