Procurement Specialist (services)

 

What this position is about:
 
JTI is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our organization. The Procurement Specialist supports the execution of category strategies and manages operational procurement activities of a lower complexity across Services category of spend in North America. Reporting to Cluster Category Manager – Services and working closely with business stakeholders, Global Indirect Procurement, P2P, and Global Business Solutions teams, this role contributes to cost optimization, supplier performance, compliance, and value creation through disciplined, data‑driven procurement practices.

The role requires strong stakeholder partnership, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, multinational environment.

 

Responsibilities:
 

Procurement & Category Support

  • Support the implementation of global, regional, and cluster category strategies for Services
  • Develop and execute local procurement action plans aligned with strategic direction
  • Drive cost optimization, savings delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support strategic sourcing, RFQ/RFP processes, and supplier selection in collaboration with internal business partners

Supplier Management

  • Identify, manage, and optimize the local and regional supplier base within scope
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities and performance monitoring
  • Negotiate best‑value commercial terms and ensure sustainable supply conditions
  • Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities within the supply base

Business Partnership

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and budget holders
  • Act as a trusted procurement partner, demonstrating value through a customer‑oriented approach
  • Support the collection and sharing of market intelligence, trends, and innovative sourcing opportunities
  • Support supply risk assessments, contingency planning, and issue resolution as needed

Governance, Compliance & Performance

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethics, and governance standards
  • Achieve defined procurement KPIs, savings targets, and service levels
  • Monitor performance, identify deviations, and support implementation of corrective actions
  • Promote disciplined use of procurement tools, data, and systems


Requirements:
 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in a multinational or complex business environment
  • Experience in Services procurement (e.g. professional services, general services, logistics, or similar categories) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting negotiations, sourcing initiatives, and supplier management

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proven negotiation and commercial capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities; proactive mindset
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and driving change
  • Technology‑savvy; strong MS Office skills
  • High ethical standards and strong compliance mindset

Languages

  • Business‑level English required; additional languages are an asset
