Accounting Manager (Raleigh, NC)

 


Position purpose:  

 

Accountable for the accuracy and effectiveness of accounting systems for US-based JTI entities. Ensure timely and accurate reporting. Ensure the maintenance of the controls environment by performing controls as required. Assist commercial functions with correct recording and reporting of their activities.

 

What will you do – responsibilities: ​

 

  • Accounting:  Accountable for the financials of US-based JTI entities ensuring all ledgers (IFRS, Statutory, Tax) are accurate. Review month-end closing.  Fully analyze Balance Sheet and P&L account by account on a monthly basis, understand accounting bookings (including error detection and corrections). Review of statutory financial statements;
  • Reporting and Controls:  Review monthly Key Account Reconciliations and quarterly reporting by deadlines.  Monitor and perform internal controls as assigned. Assist with the implementation of company's policies as related to finance;
  • Customer and credit limits:  Accountable for accurate customer and credit limit set up by reviewing Memo's, master data in SAP, and liaising with Customer Service & Logistics team.  Approve credit blocks, returns, and MyRequest templates.  Coordinate annual credit limit review and suggest updates according to results of analysis by customer;
  • Procure-to-pay and order-to-cash assistance: Monitor and resolve overdue AP and AR, including intercompany. Work with other functions to follow up and resolve issues related to the purchasing and sales process recording;
  • Continuous improvement: Work with other team members and GBS to improve the interaction and accuracy of transaction recording and period-end activities.Contribute feedback and implement improvement as needed.

 


Who are we looking for – requirements: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or an equivalent designation (completed or in progress) is an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in multi-national consumer goods organization.  Well organized accountant. Excellent communication skills is a must;
  • Fluency in English is essential to liaise with other departments and service centers;
  • Working knowledge of Excel.  SAP experience preferred but not necessary.  Strong analytical skills a must.
