Corporate Affairs Manager (WG3)

based in Prague

 

Why does this role exist?

The main goal and mission of this role is to contribute to Company performance by anticipating and shaping the operating / regulatory environment to ensure JTI's mission and business objectives in the Czech Republic. This is a key role to build Company’s credible and sustainable reputation.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess economic, legislative and regulatory developments and report changes in the company’s Operating Environment: in particular, changes in legislation and taxation, which could create commercial risk or provide competitive opportunity. Monitor worldwide developments and trends in tobacco-related issues; evaluate applicability to the national context and business impact
  • Develop and execute advocacy programs to implement global and local strategies, influence regulation and tobacco taxation to protect volume and profit, and support RRP expansion. Collaborate with global function / experts to the development of advocacy documents for the market and adapt them to local requirements
  • Identify key decision-makers in state authorities to build effective working relationships with officials and develop and maintain JTI’s access to sources of information and to influence government policy. Establish partnerships with counterparts within tobacco and related industries, including multinationals, operating in the region. Ensure that an on-going dialogue is established
  • Develop, recommend and implement effective external media relations strategy in line with the company’s business strategy. Responsible for monitoring and analysing media and industry developments; identifying and developing key contacts in media and business communities in Czech Republic. Acts as JTI spokesperson in Czech Republic and serve as liaison with PR agencies
  • Develop and tailor community investment strategies and policies, drive sustainability activities locally. Develop corporate philanthropy and corporate sponsorships program. Establish partnerships with key cultural institutions, NGOs, government organizations, special interest groups and community leaders to identify the specific society and community needs which JTI is best positioned to serve through contributions and donations or sponsorships

 

Requirements:

  • University degree (social sciences, legal or economic background)
  • 3+ years of experience with similar function
  • Excellent understanding of the political and legislative framework, social intelligence, strong communication and analytical skills are expected. Ability to learn on the job and handle cross-functional requirements are welcomed
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Czech
