Position
As Science Advocacy Manager, you will:
- Build and maintain state-of-the-art scientific expertise in the field of tobacco and nicotine-containing product use and health through in-depth analysis of published scientific literature
- Monitor, analyse, and internally report on scientific literature findings and regulatory developments relevant to JTI’s product portfolio and advocacy positions
- Develop high-quality scientific communications for internal use, peer-reviewed journals, and scientific conferences
- Support the Global Product Related Advocacy Program by developing product-related advocacy materials grounded in scientific evidence
- Contribute to the design, organisation, and reporting of scientific and technical projects addressing scientific and regulatory topics
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment within the Science Advocacy team, across Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, and with cross-functional partners by proactively sharing ideas and driving innovation
Requirements
- A university degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, Public Health, or a related field
- Ideally, a postgraduate degree in Biological Sciences or a closely related discipline
- A minimum of five years of postgraduate experience in academia or a commercial scientific environment such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical communications, scientific consultancy, or clinical research
- Ideally, prior experience within the tobacco industry
- Strong scientific writing and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific data from different disciplines clearly and concisely
- Demonstrate ownership and motivation to deliver high-quality outcomes
- The confidence to challenge the status quo and continuously improve processes and deliverables
- Openness to giving and receiving feedback to support individual and team development
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EndNote
How we'll reward you:
In return, we offer a competitive salary of £70,000 - 82.000 per annum dependent on experience and a car allowance of £7,611 per annum. We’ll also provide you with a comprehensive benefits package that’s flexible to suit you and your lifestyle including a discretionary 20% bonus scheme and money to spend on a range of flexible benefits from share schemes to discounted gym memberships.
