In the role of Legal Manager you will provide legal support across the full lifecycle of Reduced Risk Products (RRP) and new product features, from planning and development through to launch, marketing, and sale, advising JTI’s Global Functions on a broad range of related legal matters. 


 

Position

 

As a Legal Manager, you will:

 

  • Provide legal guidance across the full RRP lifecycle, from ideation, product and feature development through postlaunch marketing and sales, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including industry-specific, competition, product liability, consumer protection, and privacy/data protection requirements) 
  • Formulate and execute legal and regulatory strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risk while enabling business innovation and scalable growth 
  • Design and implement innovative legal processes and scalable solutions to support rapid product development and address legal issues in pragmatic, business‑focused ways 
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, and support a wide range of RRP‑related commercial transactions, including M&A and strategic partnerships 
  • Monitor and interpret evolving laws and regulations, assess their commercial impact, and provide clear, practical guidance and compliance recommendations to the business 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Law degree with active legal qualification, in good standing, in at least one jurisdiction 
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, including in‑house experience, ideally in the technology or consumer goods industry   
  • Background in technology‑ or product‑focused legal support, strong understanding of product regulations  (experience with EU or UK regulations is a plus)  
  • Strong understanding of privacy and data protection laws and regulations 
  • Strong interest & ability to support product innovation from a legal and regulatory perspective
  • Inquisitive, analytical mindset with sound judgment, even in ambiguous situations 
  • Ability to simplify complexity and balance legal risk with business objectives
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team, collaborating with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment   
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice 
  • Fluent written and verbal English 

 

How we'll reward you:

 

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - 85.000 per annum dependent on experience and a car allowance of £7,611 per annum. We’ll also provide you with a comprehensive benefits package that’s flexible to suit you and your lifestyle including a discretionary 20% bonus scheme and money to spend on a range of flexible benefits from share schemes to discounted gym memberships.
