Logistics Manager

 

 

Position purpose:

 

The Logistics Manager has full end‑to‑end ownership of logistics planning, execution, and performance for the Portuguese market, covering the diferent categories.
The role ensures market continuity, regulatory compliance, inventory control, cost efficiency, and flawless execution of logistics operations. Operating on the market side of the business, the role acts as coordinator between Sales, Marketing, Finance, Factories, and Global Supply Chain (GSC), ensuring that supply, production, and inventory plans remain fully aligned with fast‑changing business needs.
This is a market‑owning role, operating with high autonomy and accountability, and acting as a strategic logistics business partner to the Portuguese market.

 

 

What will you do – responsibilities:

 

  • Demand, Supply & Inventory Management: Translate commercial forecasts into executable logistics and supply plans.Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align sales, supply, and production targets. Ensure logistics readiness for price publications, price changes, product launches, and promotional initiatives. Manage inventory strategies, FCF, including coverage targets, ageing control, and quota‑related stock builds. Proactively identify supply risks and define mitigation plans to protect business continuity.
  • Distributor & Execution Management: Operational relationship with Distributor, ensuring strong execution across inbound flows and, storage, in line with market strategies. Resolve stock discrepancies, service issues, and execution incidents impacting the market. Escalate and manage operational risks with distributors, factories, and GSC.
  • Regulatory, Tax Stamp & Compliance Accountability: Hold full accountability for logistics compliance in Portugal, including Track & Trace, tax stamps, and market‑specific regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to global QMS requirements and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor write offs, stocks management and identify optimization opportunities while safeguarding service and compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, robustness, and standardization.
  • Data Integrity & Governance: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and ownership of logistics data, planning, and reporting. Oversee the full cycle of Planning in SAP IBP, ensuring alignment with market planning cycles. Validate shipment plans, inventory figures, and projections shared with Finance and GSC. Act as data owner for logistics within the Portugal market.

 

 

Who are we looking for – requirements:

 

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, or similar.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in logistics, supply planning, or supply chain roles within a multinational environment.
  • Portuguese & English required. Spanish is an advantage.
  • SAP, MS Office user (high Excel level would be required)
  • Strong cross‑functional coordination.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking.
  • High ownership and accountability mindset.
  • Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities.
  • Continuous improvement and execution excellence focus.
