ACTIVATION MANAGER

 

 

Position Purpose:

 

Support the Marketing Manager in translating Brand strategies and plans into consumer activation at point of sale through hostesses (121 programs) at market level, working very closely with Brand teams and Field Support/Field Force to ensure successful implementation while helping to control and optimize results at a regional level. He or she will continuously track agencies’ deliverables in terms of teams (including agency staff quality service, Brand Ambassadors, hostesses, and coordinators), presenting results and proposing as well as recommending necessary improvements to support M&S teams in optimizing the program and ensuring competitiveness. Additionally, he or she will ensure correct execution in the field by securing optimal geographical deployment of activities, the best points of sale, and proper Field Force activations booking (including anticipation, clustering, etc.).

 

Key responsibilities:

 

• In coordination with regional teams, ensure the correct implementation of the 121 Program at regional level by translating Brand strategies into realistic action plans, guaranteeing alignment and effective communication with Brands, Field Force, and agencies, and resolving daily incidences in a timely manner to minimize impact on Field execution.

 

• Support Marketing Manager in activation agencies´bidding (briefing, selection of agencies, etc) to select the best partners to work on the consumer activation/121 program every 3 years. Propose the annual agencies KPIs and their consequent assessment to determine access to variable bonus. Each year give proposals to the specific stucture costs by agency as well as the hostesses and coordinators salaries conditions by agency and geographic area. Follow-up of Brand Ambassadors/Hostess rotation analysis on a regular basis and study new proposals in order to reduce it. Benchmarking vs. Competition.

 

• Consumer activation at POS annual distribution per areas working closely with Brands teams, Regional Field Force, Agencies and other departments if necessary. Make the required changes and/or fine tunings during the year, guaranteeing that the plan is accomplished. If planning or other changes are proposed, manage them with urgency recommending fine tunings to gain efficiencies. Ensure needed upgrades in planning tool and ensure monitoring of Field Force activities´booking (ex. anticipation, by assigned cluster/micromarketing). 

 

• Following consumer activation guidelines, control the consumer activation program budget (raise agencies´POs, do GRs) proposing optimization of resources and looking for costs efficiencies. Ensure potential budget changes, increases are correctly implemented, propose solutions and inform the affected departments or teams. Analyze total budget, costs by agency, by different concepts and per activity on an on going basis. 

 

• Support Marketing Manager in the implementation of external controlling tools of 121 hostesses (ex: Mystery shopping, trade surveys) on top of agencies´supervision by analyzing results and ensuring corrective actions. Do Field visits as mystery shopper and translate key conclusions to 121 hostesses team, Brands, Field Force and agencies to ensure recommendations and corrective actions are implemented if needed.

 

• Hostess Coordinators selection attendance or control if required; quaterly meetings amongst Coordinators, agencies and Field Force organization including incidences' control, report and actions plans; transmission of key and important messages to Field Force; lead the 121 Hostesses Team-Field Force experts meetings and cascade messages to the rest of the Field Force in coordination with the National Field Force expert. Provide feedback and ideas to improve their tasks, empowerment and hostess engagement.

 

• Support Marketing Manager in the preparation of information requests for specific strategic meetings and/or presentations such as EXCOM, PRE ASP, OP, etc. 

 

• Ensure 121 consumer activities are implemented in the best Tobacconists/POS by continuously monitoring main KPIs (avg. Traffic per outlet, number of smokers, frequency) at market level. Collaborate with the agencies and Field Force in order to achieve an optimal selection of tobacconists/POS. 

 

•  Develop innovative consumer activation approach at POS in terms of different hours, different days, different locations, etc., throughout tests. Coordinate with Brands and Field Force the feasibility of implementation ensuring that these activities are optimized in terms of results and budget. Propose innovative materials and mechanics in order to continuously improve the program.

 

 

Requirements:

 

• University degree. Master will be a plus
• Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG similar managerial positions. Others Commercial experience is valuable.
• Fluency in English (B2 written and spoken), Native Portuguese and Spanish will be a plus.
• Advanced in MS Office (particularly Power Point and Excel).
• Commercial skills (Marketing & Trade Marketing).
• Communication and interpersonal skills, organizational and planning skills (priorities´ focus), good in attention to details, multitasking skills, proactive professional with initiative (problem-solving), creativity & innovation, analytical skills, flexibility.
